“Do you really think a perfectly ordinary High-order Ranger like would be qualified to be involved in this matter?”

Murphy glanced at him and said:

This entity wasn’t quite the sa as the subspace shadows Murphy had faced before. The Lord of Darkness doesn’t have the soul-targeting twisting and corruptive power of subspace Evil Spirits; it still uses temptation to weaken the prey’s mind, which seems to indicate a connection with the subspace, but not deep.
It’s even possible this entity isn’t a deity born of the subspace.
After all, when identifying Hether’s Life Candle earlier, the character card clearly stated, this one is “Ancient Gods.”
