As it turned out, when the Saucy Snake’s subjective initiative was mobilized, the efficiency of this creature with the power of ti was always astonishingly high.
Just like how it was lured by Murphy using the creation energy of the R-9 base to spend more than an hour learning the evil knowledge of the Twilight followers, it was also quickly and well dispatched to contact Mother Earth, completing its task.
Of course, it seed a bit difficult for Mannis, who once walked sideways in the Star Realm, to reach such a level of existence as the Mother Goddess. The difference in status between them wasn’t easy to bridge, but the Endless One was also a demigod with "connections," able to relay a ssage through Mother Earth’s "lapdogs."
Just as Cui Tan is a servant of the Sea God, Mother Earth also has her own demigod followers.
"Bloodhorn" Pad!
The War Roth Beast with the cool broken horn had so grudges with Mannis, just like other Half-gods of the Star Realm had more or less "affairs" with the Endless One. Its iconic broken horn was thanks to the Endless One.
Logically, these two should have a relationship of endless conflict, but because of recent developnts and trends, there was actually so "common interest" between Pad and Mannis. The sly Silver Wolf traded the Wolf’s Fang Sacred Sword, contaminated by The Master of Hunting, and its owner, for Pad’s broken horn.
That was a taboo.
After the gossip-loving Wanderer Cui Tan spread this tidbit, it’s said that the enraged Pad had already fought several battles with the Silver Wolf in the fragnted Star Realm.
This incident provided Murphy with a rather good reference, making him realize a truth: sotis having many enemies isn’t a bad thing, because those enemies also have their own enemies, and those are the "potential friends" you can connect with to do bad things together.
This counts as a bit of wisdom "bestowed" by the Endless One to the charming vampire, Mannis, who used similar tactics to swim like a fish in water in the Star Realm.
Friendship is always easily disrupted, but this special relationship of "common enemy" is evidently more precious in these constantly changing tis.
"It’s settled, Brother Pad agreed to help us deliver a ssage to Mother Gaia, but whether the Mother Goddess responds or not is beyond its intervention."
The cunning voice of the Endless One soon echoed in Murphy’s ear, hissing with its snake tongue:
"Of course, a wise vampire like my collaborator surely knows that Pad helping us deliver a ssage isn’t out of kindness. I’ve also taken on a task on your behalf..."
"Help it reclaim its broken horn?"
Murphy retorted:
"I heard that thing has already been made into a weapon by Huggesen."
"No, no, no. Pad is straightforward; its anger over this matter isn’t because its horn was given to mortals, but more because the Silver Wolf didn’t consult it before doing so."
The Endless One chuckled and explained:
"Though serving Mother Earth, Pad embodies a part of ’war,’ which is a legacy from its old master. Therefore, Pad is interested in all forms of conflict and warfare and favors those truly brave. So, Pad requires you to test the valor of the holder of that horn weapon.
If they can’t even defeat you, then use that weapon to finish them off and help Pad find the next destined holder."
"Ah, I heard a similar story from Triss."
Murphy rubbed his chin and asked:
"I also learned the secret of War Titan Sulguk’s demise from Kulkan, so was Pad serving Lord Sulguk before? But wasn’t Vam the new god born from Sulguk’s war body? Why doesn’t Pad continue to follow Him?
Doesn’t it seem like it and Vam are more compatible?"
"Well, because there’s already a pack of Icefield Hunting Dogs accompanying Vam at its birth, probably due to the Barbarians’ habit of taming these dogs for hunting from birth?"
The Endless One explained with a pout:
"Vam also has its own demigod followers. Angry Dog God Hayes, although a ’rising star’ among demigods, made it clear at the ti of its birth that Pad had no place among the new War Titan, unless Pad was willing to swallow its pride and serve alongside Hayes under Vam.
But the problem is, doesn’t everyone have their temper?
Pad was one of the first demigods born from the Star Realm, an ’old hand’ in our field, and after its legacy fell, it’s perfectly normal for it not to want to lower its status to serve ’nouveau riche.’
Besides, Pad is essentially the common origin of all Roth Beasts in the material world.
You know, these creatures naturally have a connection to the earth, so it’s quite normal for Pad to turn to serve Mother Earth.
In general, don’t ddle in the grudges between us demigods.
