The bright flas flickered in the hot and humid swamp, the light from the explosives being ignited, and under the destructive glow, the Avalon Hunter Witch silently retreated, treading through the mud as always.
They moved silently in the swamps blessed by Avalon’s deity, defending their sacred land against the invaders.
Led by Natalie, the Avalon Church warriors delved deeper into the swamp; efficient and stealthy in their sabotage behind enemy lines, with clear targets, swift actions, relying on the help from the entire carnivorous land of the God of Nature, causing unrest at the Wolf People’s rear.
The battle at the Lord’s position lasted for two days, and the Avalon Believers continued to sabotage a total of seven ammunition depots.
The direct result of this operation was visibly reducing the frequency of Wolf People’s use of explosives at Murphy’s frontline, bringing outdated thods like teorite Skill and war fog back to the forefront.
The Wolf People are not gods.
If they can’t produce their own explosives, of course, they are reduced every ti one is destroyed.
"How many of your squad are left?"
Exhausted, Old Porter leaned in the temporary resting camp, swallowing tasteless high-calorie egg rolls provided by the People’s Army Logistics Departnt to regain strength, and softly asked Ambo beside him.
Ambo didn’t want to answer this question, she simply wiped the stains off her face with a wet handkerchief in silence.
Thanks to the exoskeleton gifted by her "boyfriend," Ambo hadn’t faced much danger during the days of operation, but the ntal exhaustion left her uninterested in speaking. Unlike other Witch Hunter Commanders who only needed to complete their objectives, she also worried about Niu Niu, who had embarked on the path of gods-slaying, naturally adding more pressure.
Old Porter, not getting an answer, shrugged, ate up the egg roll supposedly made from Sickle Claw Monster’s eggs, then opened the lid and drank a mouthful of alchemical potion, which restored so of his spirit.
He pulled out a pipe, placed it in his mouth but didn’t light it, pulled out the combat map for a glance, seeing nine marked combat spots with seven crossed in red.
This ant that White Oak Battle Group’s combat task in this stage was nearing completion.
"The casualties among the recruits are okay..."
Ambo sighed, closed her eyes and said:
"But the old soldiers leading by example have decayed old-era Witch Hunters, one-third of the comrades summoned from Morlan village have left, and by the ti this battle is over, we will probably truly beco a mark buried in the corners of history."
"What’s wrong with that?"
Porter lit the pipe, took a deep drag and slowly exhaled, his chanical arm making a crisp sound in a tone of exhaustion mixed with calm he said:
"Natalie is already revising the classics and rituals, clearly wanting to completely break away from the old doctrines, there is no place for us old-era warriors in the newly born Avalon Church, Ambo, in the ten-year war we did many things we shouldn’t have done, those who survived have blood-stained hands; being forgotten is not bad.

This made Porter look at her in surprise, obviously not understanding what the phrase "tempt fate" ant, and engulfed by cultures from other worlds, Ambo intended to explain to the old-fashioned Porter, but eventually, she shrugged, in a concise tone said:
"Don’t say things like that, it’s bad luck."
"Tsk, so you believe this too."
Porter puffed out a smoke ring, smirked and said:
"You are really captivated by that foreigner, honestly, when we reunited earlier I wanted to chat with you about this issue, are you sure he’s soone worth entrusting your life with?
You know, while they are here right now, willing to fight for this land with us, in so future mont perhaps due to so trivial thing, they might leave these mories forever and choose never to return.
Ambo, although it’s cruel to say this, we are just a part of their mories."
"Shut up, you!"
Ambo clearly did not want to discuss this issue.
Or rather, she didn’t want to think about what kind of life she should lead if Niu Niu suddenly left one day, considering her age, choosing escapism on such a sharp issue is also understandable, but Porter obviously cared more about his comrade.
