“No, they are not aberrations, but rather the responsibilities borne by the Grey Knights cannot be made public!”
Old Eugene explained:
“The faithful of Avalon have always believed that the Church is the avatar of the God of Nature on Earth, protecting not only the souls of the believers but also punishing the filthy things and preventing the infiltration of evils from another world into our holand.
That is one of the duties of the Grey Knights.
In the hundreds of years since the Grey Knight Cult was officially established by the Avalon Church on Gram Island, those silent but resolute brothers have thwarted at least thirty invasions and infiltrations of the material world from different dinsions.

The frenzied elents from the Elental Plane tried to open a permanent rift in the Frozen Sea, but our Grey Knight brothers, led by the venerable Commander Taff, boldly leapt into the Elental Plane and fought bitterly for eighteen days and nights before finally slaying the raging elental lord.
And the punitive expedition against the Blood Fear Clan executed personally by your Lord Pa Ying.
Your one-month campaign to eradicate the Blood Fear Clan wasn’t just a vampire war; our Grey Knights were also involved, and your Lord Pa Ying condoned their actions.
The Grey Knights’ most recent operation was twenty-five years ago.”
Old Eugene said with ease:
“Under the austere leadership of Captain Fernus, the Grey Knights of the ‘Purification Fire’ Cult ventured deep into the frontier islands of the Sea of Mists, where they eradicated an evil city inhabited by Deep-Sea Fishn worshipping the subspace Evil God ‘Gan’ alongside extraplanetary barbarians.
It was a dreadful battle.
Over half of the warriors of Purification Fire perished in that distant frontier, a battle that also received assistance from the Atlantean Shark People.
Even today, the rmaid singers of the Large Reef Province along the coastline in the Origin Land still sing grand ballads of that war.
From my explanation, you should now understand the responsibilities borne by our Grey Knight brothers.
They do not involve themselves in worldly wars but fight covertly against the dangers from another world, in the hidden corners for the doctrines of my God’s love for the world.

Murphy nodded his head.
Old Eugene’s explanation was simple but profound enough for him to form a rough impression of the Grey Knights in his mind, but Mother Marianne soon interjected:
“The possibility isn’t nonexistent, Eugene, you cannot just speak of their shining aspects and overlook the risks inherent in becoming a Grey Knight!
Grey Knights are always dealing with dangerous entities from other worlds, which exposes them uncontrollably to heaps of forbidden knowledge from other planes.
This leads to the fact that the corruption rate among the Grey Knights has always been high.
When the church’s system was still intact, there were the Oak Sages and the Elders’ Council who could use the water of the Holy Grail to cleanse their bodies and souls, aiding them in finding their clear path again, but after the church’s collapse, the Grey Knights no longer had any aid to resist the temptation of the forbidden knowledge in their minds, making a misstep understandable.
What’s even more terrifying is that, outside the Antani District coast, the Grey Knights have several secret depots.
There, they’ve stored all of the evil things they’ve confiscated over the centuries, items too dangerous to be destroyed by conventional ans and thus chosen for sealing.
But after the church’s collapse, I’ve heard that the psychicists of Circle Tower happily took possession of those things.
Although they too have a Forbidden Tower for containing such evil objects, given the psychics’ dangerous nature of courting death, it’s hard to say what they will use those objects for!
At least I can be sure that the source of the psychic plague used by the Exploration Corps when Westerburg was destroyed two years ago might have sothing to do with several of the Netherworld evil objects confiscated by the Grey Knights.
I’ve heard legends about them; I just never thought the Circle Tower would dare to use them.”
“Both of you!
We’re not here to discuss the duties and burdens of the Grey Knights, so please calm down a bit.”
Murphy raised his hand to stop the bickering of the old man and woman.
He said:
“What I want to ask is, if it is now confird that the Fallen Grey Knights have beco a ‘weapon’ that the Subspace Shadows can deploy into the material world, do we have a thod to deal with them as quickly as possible when they appear?
To put it more bluntly, what is the Grey Knights’ weakness?”
