Now reading: Chapter 70: Woman in Despair from My Pretty Campus Queen, a Eastern novel by Kongming Reappears.

To her disappointnt, this was a narrow alley, filled with all kinds of things, but there wasn’t a single place where she could avoid a bullet. Plus, high building walls flanked both sides, making it impossible to climb over in an instant.

At this mont, a hint of despair flashed across her face; she couldn’t escape nor fight back. It seed destined she would die here tonight...

Hong Qi sensed Butterfly’s thoughts and laughed heartily, "Haha, Bai Huadie, at this point, do you think you can still escape?"

"I asked you to hand over your stuff and follow , but you were unwilling. Plus, you even sent people against . This ti you’ve killed so many of my brothers. No matter what, you must die today!"

Hong Qi cast a chilling glance at Bai Huadie, slowly raising the gun in his hand and aid it directly at her. Behind him, a dozen n started fidgeting, gripping their long weapons tightly.

Upon seeing this, Bai Huadie sighed internally, her heart filled with despair. It seed this place would be her burial ground tonight.

"Hey, at this late hour, instead of having a good ti with girls, you’re here playing with guns. Isn’t that spoiling the mood? And if you’re going to play with guns, at least don’t aim at a beauty. What if it accidentally goes off? Such a pretty girl—you may not cherish her, but I sure do!"

Just as Bai Huadie closed her eyes, preparing to accept her fate, a lazy voice echoed in everyone’s ears.

"Who is it?"

Instinctively, Hong Qi raised his gun but found no direction to point it at since he had no idea where the voice was coming from.

At that mont, Bai Huadie also opened her eyes and was extrely shocked by what she saw.

A shadow descended from the sky and stood gracefully in front of Hong Qi, back to him, as if the knives and guns of those dozen n were non-existent in his eyes.

"Who...who are you?"

Hong Qi looked at the newcor with utter terror. Despite not seeing his face, Hong Qi felt a strong sense of danger. Even holding a gun didn’t seem safe anymore.

His first assumption was that this man was Bai Huadie’s ally. But he quickly realized that wasn’t the case.

"Who I am doesn’t matter. What’s important is that playing with guns at night is wrong."

The newcor didn’t pay Hong Qi any heed, replying lazily, then took a few steps toward Bai Huadie, examining her with interest, and said, "Tsk, tsk, such a pretty woman. It would be such a pity if you got shot..."

"Miss, if I save you tonight, could you promise sothing in return?" Chen Tianlong said flirtatiously as he lifted Bai Huadie’s chin, though she had a veil on, hiding her face.

Bai Huadie wanted to avoid his touch but couldn’t in ti before Chen Tianlong withdrew his hand.

"Alright!"

Bai Huadie was surprised. She knew exactly who this man was—Chen Tianlong. Was this young guy pretending? Didn’t he realize how dangerous this place was?

Indeed!

Bai Huadie was actually Shen Yan’s roommate, Liu Ting.

She agreed because she knew Chen Tianlong wouldn’t dare do anything to her. When the ti ca, she’d catch him out and complain to Shen Yan, sealing his fate.

"I don’t care who you are. You’d better get lost imdiately, or the gun in my hand isn’t just for show!"

The man standing in front of him had a smile, seemingly ordinary, but made Hong Qi extrely nervous. He stepped back a couple of steps, hiding behind his n, and shouted.

"Get lost? I have two legs; can’t I walk myself?"

Chen Tianlong chuckled, then faced Hong Qi, seemingly oblivious to the dozen people in front wielding long swords and guns.

"If I were you, I’d scram. I don’t believe you can take us all on, with our knives and guns!"

Hong Qi shouted again, but he stayed hidden within the crowd, too scared to co out. This person’s sudden appearance was too strange, and he lacked full confidence.

"Confidence is good, but too much leads to arrogance."

As soon as the words left his mouth, Chen Tianlong’s figure suddenly vanished. Imdiately, a shadow darted through the crowd with lightning speed, kicking, chopping, and even using acupoint techniques. In less than thirty seconds, all the n were on the ground.

The others were filled with terror and disbelief, as if they had seen a ghost.

Only the figure in the middle shook his head, pulled out a cigarette, and leisurely blew smoke rings.

Liu Ting widened her eyes in disbelief at the scene before her, her mouth forming an O shape.

Everything happened too fast. She hadn’t even seen clearly, and all of Hong Qi’s n were on the ground. Who exactly was this person? Human or ghost?

Astounded, Liu Ting looked up at the man leisurely smoking not far away. It was the first ti in her life she had witnessed such an unbelievable thing. She even wondered if she was dreaming.

The people Hong Qi brought were top-notch experts from Red Gate, yet they were all dealt with so easily and casually.

It was clearly a terribly uneven battle, but the weaker side secured an absolute victory.

Apparently, these people had all fainted. Chen Tianlong, being a soldier, could not kill indiscriminately. He had nothing against these people; he acted because he couldn’t stand seeing such a beauty being bullied.

Chen Tianlong strolled up to Bai Huadie with a grin, revealing a row of white teeth, "Miss, my na is Chen Tianlong. And you?"

"May I not say?" Bai Huadie clearly used a voice changer.

"You can, but you see, I’ve already resolved your trouble. So, the matter you promised ...?"

Seeing Chen Tianlong’s eyes scanning her body unabashedly, especially her tattered clothes exposing her fair skin, she imdiately grasped a few things internally.

Liu Ting sighed internally. This Chen Tianlong truly was a lecher. But having promised, Liu Ting, as a mber of the Butterfly organization, valued her word. So she nodded, "I’ll agree to your request."

Having barely escaped to this place, she was now almost completely exhausted. Resisting was nearly impossible, and this person indeed saved her life.

Bai Huadie knew it was ti for gratitude. She had even prepared for the worst—to give herself to Chen Tianlong.

"Hmm, what I want you to promise is...to go back, heal up properly, and have a good night’s sleep. Don’t worry your roommate, alright?" Chen Tianlong chuckled, knowing the beauty misunderstood. Although he liked beauties, he wasn’t the type to take advantage of them.

"What?"

Upon hearing that, Liu Ting was a bit confused. No matter how she imagined, she never anticipated such a request. After a long mont of realization, she nodded, "Mhm!"
