"The Pang Family?" Xia Hanshi whipped his head around, his tone frigid. "Are they also colluding with the Deceitful God Sect? They want Su Chen dead, just for Zhou Xian?"
"That’s not the case..." Bu Siqi, covered in a cold sweat, quickly explained. "This seems to be that junior, Pang Xingwen, taking matters into his own hands."
"Last night..." He briefly described what happened and offered his speculation. "I suspect our junior brother’s refusal upset so people in that group, and now they want to cause a little trouble."
"As for actually hurting our junior brother, they wouldn’t dare."
"Wouldn’t dare?" Xia Hanshi sneered. "Courage isn’t sothing people have from the start. With away from Ying Feng, quite a few people have gotten audacious."

"You’re right." Bu Siqi gave a wry smile and changed the topic. "So, what did you find out on your trip?"
Xia Hanshi’s expression sobered, a flicker of apprehension in his eyes. "Sothing big is about to happen."
Bu Siqi shuddered, listening intently as Xia Hanshi began to explain.
"Southwind’s Holy Word Stone, Yun Lan’s Space Crystal, Cyan Lake’s Silver Star Water, Baiyue’s nano spirit embryo..."
Xia Hanshi said in a low voice, "I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t looked into it. The Deceitful God Sect has been incredibly active over the past six months. And it’s not just one Deceitful God—several of them are working together."
"Working together?" Bu Siqi swallowed hard, shocked. "They’re capable of working together?"
Xia Hanshi’s expression shifted. "That’s right. I don’t know what they’re up to, but it’s guaranteed to be sothing big."
"Should we report this to the Judicial Court?" Bu Siqi couldn’t help but ask.
Xia Hanshi’s eyes narrowed. "The first item to go missing, Cyan Lake’s Silver Star Water, was stolen a year and a half ago. Sohow, the Judicial Court in Ying Feng was completely unaware. Sothing’s wrong here."
"You an... there’s a mole in the Judicial Court?" The words made Bu Siqi tremble.
Xia Hanshi didn’t elaborate, simply waving his hand. "That’s enough. Go back. And don’t let anyone know I’m back."

As mid-June approached, the date of the Judicial Court assessnt drew ever closer. Su Chen could feel the change in the atmosphere; he could even hear people discussing it on the orbital train.
He stuck to his own routine: spending his days on the orbital train selecting targets to help, and his nights training.
One night, inside the Gravity Training Chamber, the walls were paneled with plates of a special, silvery-white tal.
Su Chen’s eyes were squeezed shut, his brow deeply furrowed. CRACKLE! Arcs of electricity danced across his skin, making his whole body burn. His movents grew faster and faster, his motions broad and powerful. The electrical arcs surging around him intensified in tandem.
Then, at a certain mont, a transformation began in his chest. His skin turned a deep indigo, and the searing pain made Su Chen feel as if he were lting.
The indigo color spread from his chest, seeping through his limbs and body until he was entirely transford.
At the sa ti, the Wind-Thunder Elents converged, automatically forming an ethereal armor around him. It then slowly sank into his body, as if trying to rge with him.
This ti, the searing pain was mixed with a tingling numbness that pierced him to the bone.
"GAAH..."
Su Chen’s eyes were bloodshot. He wanted nothing more than to rip his own skin off. The combination of agonizing pain and tingling numbness nearly made him black out.

Thankfully, the process didn’t last long. The changes within his body slowly subsided.
Su Chen collapsed to the floor, panting for breath. He chugged so high-compression Nutrient Liquid and waited a few monts before his senses returned.
’Reaching fifty percent developnt and gaining a new Professional Ability was sothing I expected,’ Su Chen thought. ’But the subsequent fusion and enhancent was a surprise.’
’Professional Fusion... from what I understand, it doesn’t happen very often,’ Su Chen mused.
Every Profession has its own unique traits, but as a Professional advances, it’s inevitable that so of their abilities will overlap.
For example, both Wind-Thunder Barrier and Wind-Thunder Resilient Hide are defensive abilities, but they follow two different routes: one forms a protective barrier outside the body, while the other strengthens the body itself.
It’s not that they’re redundant—it’s still an extra layer of defense. But it’s hard to say they offer a significant boost in strength, since your power is split between them.
Ability fusion is a special phenonon that occurs when a living being’s own evolution takes a more optimal path.
When two highly compatible abilities rge, the result is stronger and more efficient. It’s not a simple case of one plus one equals two.
But figuring out how to trigger Professional Fusion is the goal of every Professional.
’Coincidence, or was this inevitable?’ Su Chen wondered. As he did, sparks shot from his skin. Wind-Thunder Elents intertwined, with feather-like blades of wind and arcs of lightning weaving together into flowing patterns of light. They quickly ford a skintight suit of armor across his body.
He slapped his palm against it, producing the clang of tal on tal.
’The defensive power is impressive. It’s two or three tis stronger...’ Su Chen estimated.
Next, he retrieved the Cyan Scale Armor from his Storage Space and put it on. Then, he enhanced it with his Thunder Armor ability.
CRACKLE!
Arcs of electricity erupted. Each scale seed to be infused with liquid stardust. The cyan began to bleed into a brilliant indigo, glowing ever more brightly.
THUMP! THUMP!
Su Chen thumped his chest, producing a series of dull thuds. ’Tsk. With this level of defense, even Zhou Xian’s regular attacks would have trouble getting through, given his strength back then.’
