The two went downstairs. Once they confird Bu Siqi was gone, Su Chen said to Wu Yang, "Senior Brother Teng is in trouble. Give the Curse Scroll. Everyone, stay put and don’t go anywhere. I must be the first one to report this matter about the Divine Blood."

"Okay," Wu Yang agreed without a mont’s hesitation. "No one will leave until there’s news."

Su Chen nodded, taking the Curse Scroll and its translation.

After leaving the hall, he saw many people had gathered on the street outside. Su Chen glanced up, then vanished into the shadows in a few quick flickers.

’ng Qi’s disguise was superb. Even Chong Jingtian couldn’t see through it in person, not even with a ntal probe. Now that he’s dead, there’s no proof. It’s a classic case of being caught with mud on your pants—everyone’s going to assu it’s shit...’

Su Chen kept switching his mode of transport. ’The tricky part is proving that ng Qi was the problem.’

’What about a flesh and blood analysis? No... he already went through that when he joined the Judicial Court.’

’It’s impossible for him to be completely exonerated, but Old Teng’s status is special. As long as I can cast so doubt on ng Qi, and with Old Xia around, they won’t be able to deal with Teng Liang too quickly.’

’That’s enough.’

He had no way of proving there was sothing wrong with ng Qi quickly and directly; he could only do his best to find an indirect route.

’I don’t know if ng Qi is truly dead, or if it was just a shell that perished...’

The abrupt news sent Su Chen’s mind reeling. ’But at least this temporarily removes a potential threat. Even if it was just a shell, the cost to create one must be imnse. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have only had one ng Qi after all this ti.’

Su Chen rembered clearly that ng Qi had already taken on Zhu Xuan’s appearance, but in the end, he had still chosen to use the ng Qi shell.

This ant that even if the enemy took on Zhu Xuan’s form, they weren’t confident they could truly deceive Chong Jingtian. Only the ng Qi persona was the perfect disguise.

"Tsk..." At this thought, Su Chen broke into a grin. ’Old Teng, you absolute beast.’

Su Chen paused, lting into the shadows. He looked up. He had arrived at his destination, but it wasn’t the Judicial Court. Instead, it was a perfectly ordinary-looking residential area.

His figure gradually vanished as he slipped into a spatial interlayer. ’I hope it doesn’t take too long to find those guys.’

’First, I sent Bu Siqi away. Then I made sure Wu Yang and the others were stuck in Priest Black Tuo’s old lair. The ti I’ve bought myself should be enough.’

...

「Judicial Court, Judgent Hall.」

The Judgnt Departnt was sparsely staffed. Since its purpose was internal review, it was widely disliked.

The hall was normally deserted, but today, it was packed with people both inside and out.

Inside the brightly lit hall, four black iron chairs sat upon a dais. Chong Jingtian occupied the center seat, his expression thunderous.

Jiang Shu Mo and You Shan were also present, along with another man whose face was like cold iron. His eyes were as sharp as a falcon’s, and he radiated a forbidding aura that warned others to keep their distance.

He was the Eighth Chief Judge, Lei Tieyan, the head of the Judgnt Departnt, a man who rarely involved himself in any other matters of the Judicial Court.

Nurous Director Level officials stood on either side. So wore looks of deep concern, while others seed to be gloating over the misfortune.

Ming Lin and his companions were present, their expressions complicated as they stared at the corpse lying at the foot of the dais. It was ng Qi.

Teng Liang, anwhile, was bound in heavy shackles that glowed faintly with so sort of sigil.

"You claim ng Qi was a mber of the Deceitful God Sect. Do you have any proof?" Lei Tieyan asked slowly, his tone utterly flat.

"No," Teng Liang replied from below, shaking his head. "But I saw it with my own eyes."

Jiang Shu Mo frowned. "You had Bu Siqi lure away with false information to test ng Qi. But during this test, you supposedly discovered sothing was wrong with him and decided to kill him. Don’t you think that explanation is a bit... far-fetched?"

Teng Liang shook his head. "No, I didn’t intend to kill him. I only ant to subdue him. He committed suicide."

"Suicide..." Jiang Shu Mo’s face darkened as he pointed to the corpse on the floor. "Are you telling he knew he was no match for you, and fearing he couldn’t explain himself if captured, he simply decided to kill himself?"

"I hadn’t thought about his motive, but your speculation sounds about right," Teng Liang concurred.

For once, Jiang Shu Mo was at a loss for words.

Lei Tieyan’s face was a mask. "The body is lying right here. Since joining the Judicial Court, there hasn’t been a single shred of evidence tying ng Qi to the Deceitful God Sect. Yet now you’ve killed him, and you can’t offer any proof to justify it."

"So, tell . Why were you so convinced there was sothing wrong with him?"

"Hmm..." Teng Liang thought for a mont before answering, "Intuition."

Lei Tieyan roared, "Teng Liang! Don’t think for a second that I won’t dare to kill you just because you’re Xia Hanshi’s student!"

"The murder of a Core Seed is an executable offense!"

"Chief Judge," a portly, benevolent-looking man suddenly spoke up from the side. "Teng Liang is one of the pillars of our Judicial Court. He would never do sothing like this without a good reason."

"Perhaps he was bewitched or manipulated by the Deceitful God Sect, which led him to commit these repeated offenses."

"Repeated offenses?" Jiang Shu Mo shot a look at the speaker. "Xue Fei, are you suggesting he’s also responsible for Zhu Xuan’s death?"

"It’s a possibility," Xue Fei nodded. "We should look into it. Since Teng Liang is so adamant, why not just have Judge You examine his mories?"

Jiang Shu Mo snorted. "Teng Liang is a Tier Five Professional. Are you trying to drive him insane, or perhaps kill him on the spot, by forcibly viewing his mories?"

"We need to get to the bottom of this," Wei Yufan said placidly. "Besides, with Judge You’s skill, I’m certain she can minimize any damage."

"We can’t just execute Teng Liang without being sure. And if his mind really does break in the process, the Judicial Court can always take care of him for life."

Ming Lin frowned. Talk of execution was clearly just a hasty threat from Lei Tieyan. Wei Yufan’s proposal, however, actually stood a chance of being approved.

Chong Jingtian watched the shifting expressions of everyone present, his own face growing darker.
