"I need to have held at least two Top-tier Professions... I actually et that requirent," Ming Lin mused. "But I also have to get beaten at least ten thousand tis, without defending myself."
The profession requirents Su Chen had given were the standard ones, corrected by his panel. Following them precisely would ensure there were no hidden dangers.
"No wonder you asked about the Forged Ore Vein Core last ti..." Ming Lin finally realized, but his expression imdiately turned to one of confusion. "You asked about that two months ago. How have you only just gotten the complete profession now?"
"Does the Translation Departnt give out profession information pieceal?"
"Wait a second..." Ming Lin paused. "Don’t tell you’re helping a Translator with their deciphering?"
"Sothing like that," Su Chen said evasively.
"So you have a side hustle like that," Ming Lin couldn’t help but say. "If you ask , even though the Translation Departnt has a respected status, it’s no substitute for tangible power. You shouldn’t waste your ti."
He assud Su Chen was thodically learning ancient languages and then deciphering them step by step.
"I know," Su Chen said, brushing him off before steering the conversation back on topic. "After obtaining the profession, how much food can you store? Are there any other requirents?"
"There are no other requirents, but you can’t consu compressed Nutrient Liquid for quick reserves."
Ming Lin explained in detail, "The most at I’ve ever eaten from a sa-tier Mutant Species was about half a ton. The nutrients it converted into were enough to take from a weakened state straight back to peak condition."
"But you can only store it for ten days. Any longer, and it gets digested automatically."
Su Chen fell into thought. The ability Ming Lin had obtained was actually incomplete.
This was because, according to Ming Lin’s description, the required foods to complete the profession’s prerequisites didn’t include the two major categories of living things and rotting matter—a result of his panel’s auto-correction.
Lacking those two categories, the ability gained after completion would surely be greatly diminished.
"By the way, where did you get this Forged Ore Vein Core?" Ming Lin asked.
"I redeed it from the Judicial Court’s internal exchange. It cost one hundred and twenty thousand Contribution Points, and it seems to be the only one they had for now." Su Chen shrugged. "You’ll have to find your own way."
"One hundred and twenty thousand Contribution Points..." Upon hearing this, Ming Lin’s face grew even more excited. "Excellent! The more valuable the requirents, the greater its power."
"Looks like I’m the one getting the better end of this deal."
"We just each have our own needs," Su Chen said, unconcerned. The Armored Bone Warrior was certainly powerful, but combined with his own Professional Abilities, it could be taken to an even higher level.
Ming Lin would clearly only be able to enjoy its base power. Su Chen then asked, "Where do you get an Abyssal Stomach? Does the Judicial Court have any?"
"The Judicial Court doesn’t have them. They only have a one percent chance of forming inside a Tier Four Mutant Species called the Tiger Gluttony. On top of that, if it isn’t extracted and cryogenically stored within ten minutes of death, it shrivels up."
Ming Lin shook his head, but then chuckled. "However, since it’s one of the requirents for the Gourt profession, I’ve gotten my hands on a few over the years to keep on hand for trades."
"This profession you’ve given is clearly very powerful, so I’ll give you one for free. I’ll have it sent over in a couple of days."
"Then I’ll thank you for that." Su Chen certainly wasn’t going to refuse.
’Ming Lin is a decent guy,’ Su Chen thought. ’It’s a sha abilities can’t be adjusted after one obtains a profession. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have minded revealing the corrected requirents for Gourt to him.’
Ming Lin left, full of excitent, while Su Chen began researching how to complete the requirents as quickly as possible. The overall difficulty for the Gourt profession wasn’t high; it was just a matter of eating.
Besides, the most objectionable requirents had already been erased, leaving only the task of eating beyond his limits.
He went to the Potion Room and downed several tubes of Nutrient Liquid. The feeling of fullness was so intense he almost gagged, but there was no change in the status of the requirent.
’Looks like I can’t cheat using these compressed Potions,’ he thought. ’I’ll have to eat normal ingredients, and probably a lot of them every day. The Gu Family started out selling at, if I rember correctly.’
Su Chen sent a ssage to Gu Bing, who responded quickly. She agreed to his request without hesitation and said she would make arrangents imdiately.
Early the next morning, a cargo Hovercar was parked at the entrance to Su Chen’s residence.
"...Selected from the pens outside the city, slaughtered, and transported here, all in under twelve hours... It’s so fresh the tendons are still twitching..."
Gu Bing hopped down from the Hovercar and opened the doors, revealing large, individually-sealed cuts of at. They were of various colors, and so even emitted a strange glow.
"Hmm, you’d probably need a high-level chef to prepare this at," Su Chen remarked, glancing at the haul. It was all at from Tier Three Mutant Species.
But Gu Bing said, "I can do it."
"You?" Su Chen asked, surprised. Gu Bing smiled. "I’m also a high-level chef."
’It makes sense for a at purveyor to also be a chef,’ Su Chen thought, then said, "But I’ll probably need continuous deliveries and preparation for the next thirty days."
"That’s even better..." Gu Bing’s eyes brightened. Her gaze seed to drift a little as she added, "I don’t have any missions lately, anyway."
"Alright." Su Chen certainly wasn’t going to stop her. It was like how getting beaten up by Bai Fengxi was far more pleasant than getting beaten up by Bu Siqi.
A pretty female chef was certainly more pleasant to look at than so burly one with a thick neck.
The excitent in Gu Bing’s eyes was fleeting. She imdiately switched into work mode, unloading the sealed cuts of at one by one.
After that, Su Chen’s life fell into a new routine: train to his limit, then gorge himself on at.
The only drawback was that being unable to use highly compressed Nutrient Liquid extended his recovery ti sowhat, but it wasn’t a major issue.
...
"Divine Son, I have the information you requested."
In a secret location sowhere in Ying Feng, a Faceless Ghost Follower was prostrated on the ground, respectfully reporting to the greyish-white pillar in the center of the room.
"Your forr vessel is currently inside a high-level laboratory within the Judicial Court. They appear to be studying it."
