Back at the Judicial Court, it was already afternoon. Su Chen headed straight for the profession repository, ready to access the Tier Four Professions.
A few days ago, he had sought out Chong Jingtian again to ntion this matter. The other man had given him the opportunity to access them without a second thought.
Entering the hall, Su Chen confidently stated his request and began to review the profession requirents.
[Discovered Tier Four Upper Profession: Calamity Walker. Advancent is possible upon completion of the following requirents.]
[Advancent Requirent 1: Raise three Body Refining Techniques to Master Level.]
[Advancent Requirent 2: During a thunderstorm, envelop yourself with the Thunder Elent and survive for three days.]
[Advancent Requirent 3: Guide a calamitous thunderstorm to strike an area inhabited by 10,000 people, causing at least 100 casualties or destroying over thirty percent of the residential area.]
Standing before the virtual screen, Su Chen rubbed his chin, his gaze unfocused. ’The requirents are getting harder and harder.’
The standard three Body Refining Techniques were fine. So was becoming a living Lightning Rod and surviving in a thunderstorm for three days. But having to lead a natural disaster to strike other people was another story.
And this was after the panel had already corrected it. According to the Judicial Court’s records, the third requirent originally demanded no fewer than five hundred casualties and the destruction of more than fifty percent of the area.
A Tier Three simply couldn’t create that kind of large-scale, calamitous thunderstorm; they would have to rely on nature or the help of others.
This would require significant resources, money, and status to complete quickly.
[The Calamity Walker arrived, cold and rciless, intending to spread fear and despair—until it saw the Great Venerable. A faint smile broke through its cold expression as it restrained its aura. Advancent Requirent 2 has been weakened: survival ti reduced to one day.]
Just another case of the Great Venerable being shown deference.
’Still, even though it’s been weakened, it’s not that big of a deal,’ Su Chen thought.
As his Tier increased, these professions were gradually shifting from prostrating themselves to rely trembling in fear.
However, he still hadn’t used his Deceitful God’s Power, so he wasn’t in a hurry. He continued to review the next profession.
[Discovered Tier Four Upper Profession: Law Enforcer. Advancent is possible upon completion of the following requirents.]
[Advancent Requirent 1: Raise three ditation Techniques to Master Level.]
[Advancent Requirent 2: Endure the Delirious Words Trial for six hours.]
[Advancent Requirent 3: Take control of an organization with no fewer than a thousand people, establish harsh laws that are resisted by the populace, and enforce them for over half a year without them being broken.]
’Laws that people resist? That’s just torture for and for them. Plus, it would take a huge amount of ti, energy, and resources to prepare.’ Su Chen frowned as he glanced over the requirents.
’Let’s see what part of it gets weakened. This last requirent is quite a hassle.’
’The Power of the Faceless Ghost also erases one of three requirents, so there’s no guarantee it would remove this one,’ he thought. ’I only have one charge left, and now that Ying Feng has no more Believers, it’ll probably be very difficult to find another.’
’Should I bet on the Law Enforcer, or the Calamity Walker?’
He couldn’t make up his mind. But after waiting for a mont, there was surprisingly no reaction on the panel.
"Hm?" Su Chen faltered for a second. Normally, the mont a profession was captured, the show of deference to the Great Venerable would trigger imdiately. There was almost never a delay, and he had gotten used to it.
’Could it be...?’ His heart trembled slightly. He waited another mont, and words began to appear on the panel, very slowly.
[The Law Enforcer’s expression is grim. As a defender of the rules, it is solemn and unsmiling, permitting no action that goes against them.]
It wasn’t showing deference! Su Chen grew faintly excited. ’We’ve got a stubborn one!’
The first one to refuse to show deference had appeared. He was very curious to see what would happen.
[The Law Enforcer stood ramrod straight. The other professions glanced sideways and shuffled aside. The Great Venerable lowered its gaze slightly, and a sound like booming thunder echoed. The Law Enforcer staggered and fell to the ground. All advancent requirents are now considered complete.]
"Ha..." Su Chen couldn’t hold back a laugh. ’If it had just shown a little respect, the Great Venerable wouldn’t have even bothered with it. But no, it had to be stubborn, and it ended up getting zapped into a concussion.’
’As expected of the Great Venerable. Getting it all done in one go.’
This way, he wouldn’t have to worry about the Delirious Words Trial anymore. His last direct confrontation with Black Tuo had left him with lingering fear.
He didn’t have to care about any harsh laws either; when the ti ca, he could just advance directly.
Imdiately, Su Chen used [Mid-tier Black Tuo’s Power] to corrupt the profession.
[The amnesiac Law Enforcer is steeped in Black Tuo’s Power, yet remains without desire.]
[The Law Enforcer has transford into—the Word Spirit Law Master.]
’?’ Su Chen froze, then nearly burst out laughing. ’It transford just like that? Incredible. Truly incredible.’
Su Chen sincerely hoped, ’I hope there are more stubborn fools like this in the future.’
[The still-trembling Calamity Walker is steeped in Black Tuo’s Power. Its desire for destruction grows stronger. It now requires a pure Eye of the Thunder God to suppress this desire.]
’The Eye of the Thunder God... I wonder what the hell that is.’
Su Chen was in a good mood, so he used [Mid-tier Faceless Ghost Power] next.
[The Calamity Walker is eroded by Faceless Power. It is dazed and confused, seemingly forgetting who it is. Advancent Requirent 3 has been erased.]
’Not bad luck. It erased the most troubleso requirent right off the bat.’ Su Chen grinned, very satisfied. ’This is what all that hard work was for.’
After his series of operations, and with the panel’s "insignificant" assistance, the advancent requirents for both professions had been reduced to a point where they were very easy to complete.
’The only thing left is the requirent to get struck by lightning, and it’s only for one day. I can get that done whenever I have so free ti. This way, once my developnt reaches 100%, I can advance directly.’
Advancing directly upon reaching one hundred percent developnt might sound ordinary, but for the vast majority of Professionals, it was an unattainable dream.
Advancent requirents were bizarre and varied, and rarely did they overlap with developnt progress. In a way, the fact that one of the requirents was always about a Training Technique was already a form of difficulty reduction.
