"Take the Phoenix, for example. It’s nad that because it can achieve nirvana and be reborn from flas." Wan Chen stressed, "And I an a true rebirth after death."
’A powerful core ability exclusive to a Holy Profession...’ Su Chen mused. ’No wonder it takes three pieces of Black Tuo Essence just to unlock the advancent path.’
’No, that’s not right. It should be that it *only* takes three pieces of Black Tuo Essence to give a special profession the *potential* to transform into a Holy Profession.’
When he thought of it that way, it actually seed unbelievably powerful, which made him rather anxious.
’After all, the essence only unlocks the potential. I’ll still have to et certain requirents to advance, and who knows how difficult those will be.’
"The Lan Family has a Morning Star Tier Professional?" Su Chen suddenly realized.
"Yes and no," Wan Chen explained. "The Lan Family once had a Morning Star Tier Professional, but their strongest mber now is a Tier Nine Professional."
Hearing the title "Blue Fla Phoenix," Su Chen had assud the Lan Family currently had a Morning Star Tier Professional.
But apparently, that wasn’t the case. He quickly put two and two together. "Can ordinary Professionals take on this Holy Profession, then?"
"That’s right." Wan Chen confird his suspicion. "As long as you acquire all the special professions that were used in the lting Holy Profession, one by one, and use certain auxiliary thods, you can obtain it."
"However, its power is greatly diminished. It’s nothing compared to when it’s wielded by a Morning Star Tier Professional."
"For example, the core rebirth ability of the Lan Family’s Phoenix Holy Profession is severely restricted as a result. Still, its accompanying self-healing ability is plenty powerful on its own."
Su Chen looked thoughtful, then asked, "So do ordinary special professions beco useless after one reaches the Morning Star Tier?"
"Not necessarily." Wan Chen shook his head as he walked at a leisurely pace. "Their power is said to be drastically reduced, so they’re apparently just used as supplentary materials for a lting Holy Profession."
"So you can perform a lting Holy Profession when you first advance, but you can do it again later?" Su Chen couldn’t help his curiosity.
"I think so, but with certain restrictions." Wan Chen’s answer was vague, and it was unclear whether he genuinely didn’t know or was deliberately holding back.
But after hearing all this, Su Chen understood the origin and power of Holy Professions. His eyes glinted as he said, "It sounds like a Holy Profession is the lifeblood of a family. It must be incredibly difficult for an outsider to obtain one."
Wan Chen couldn’t help but chuckle at his words. "Of course. Positions at the Morning Star Tier are extrely limited, and the Spiritual requirents are difficult to satisfy. Whether a new one can erge is purely up to fate."
"In a family’s long line of succession, it’s the Tier Nine Professionals equipped with a Holy Profession who form the backbone of their fighting force."
"The more Holy Professions a family has, the more powerful its foundation. That’s why the requirents for a Holy Profession, and even the nas of the special professions related to it, are top-secret. They do everything in their power to keep that information confidential."
’That makes them incredibly rare...’ Su Chen murmured. ’So it seems that even in the Bronze Sect, information on professions isn’t freely available. In fact, it’s probably guarded even more strictly because of Holy Professions.’
"Enough about these miscellaneous things," Wan Chen said, shaking his head. "For now, Lan Hao can’t do anything to you, but it’s hard to say what will happen after we return to the Sect. If you run into trouble then, you can co find for help."
Su Chen had no foundation to stand on. Even if Qing Cang took him in as a disciple and he entered the Sect, he likely wouldn’t have the power to deal with the Lan Family.
"Thank you," Su Chen said. He then tried to subtly probe for more information about the Sect. Wan Chen didn’t hide the general details, but he beca tight-lipped whenever the topic touched on the higher-ups.
...
anwhile, Lan Hao, who had returned to his room so ti ago, had a face as black as the bottom of a pot. He stood at the window, staring out at the hazy, swirling mist as he coldly spat out two words: "Wan Chen!"
Wan Chen was as powerful as he had expected, yet also far beyond his expectations. His defeat had been utterly complete.
"And Su Chen..." At the ntion of that na, Lan Hao’s expression grew even darker.
Losing to Wan Chen was humiliating, but at least it was within the realm of possibility. Being played for a fool by soone like Su Chen, a nobody who didn’t even understand the basics of the Royal Court, felt far more shaful.
’I’ll settle this score with them once we’re back at the Sect.’ Lan Hao snorted and put the matter aside for the ti being.
’Qing Cang wants to take him as a disciple, so there’s nothing I can do right now. But things will be different back at the Sect. It’s not like Su Chen is Qing Cang’s only disciple.’
’The more important issue right now is Wan Chen. Leaving aside his chances of becoming the chosen one, I have no hope of competing with him. Since things have co to this... this is my only option.’
Having apparently made his decision, he reached out and pulled four black tal cubes from the void, placing them at the four corners around him.
The instant his ntal energy touched them, the black cubes began to vibrate nonstop as golden symbols surfaced on them.
The cores of the tal blocks then opened, layer by layer, revealing intricate chanical structures within. tal rods extended from their corners, linking together to form a cubic fra. A transparent Energy film then materialized from the fra, enveloping him completely.
Exhaling, Lan Cang closed his eyes. He felt the scene before him shift, layer by layer. A hazy, grey-white mist rose, and a cold, damp sensation gradually swallowed him. Soon, he was subrged in the Nether Realm.
But what appeared before him was not a desolate wasteland, but a small, narrow room.
He stretched a little, seemingly accustod to this place, and walked to a black table in the center of the room to press a red button on its surface.
Before long, another indistinct figure materialized. It wasn’t as solid as him, and its face was a blur.
The figure flickered, sotis dissipating and sotis coalescing, as if the connection might break at any second.
"Lan Hao... it seems you have made your choice." The blurry figure’s voice crackled with static, cutting in and out.
"Tell , why exactly did Qing Cang secretly leave the Bronze Sect?"
Lan Hao said in a low voice, "The Morning Star Tier Profession, the one belonging to the Great Venerable Red Fla Thunder Resonator, is here. If you’re too slow, you won’t even get the leftovers."
"The Great Venerable Red Fla Thunder Resonator!"
The figure’s voice suddenly rose in pitch. "So it was for that profession! No wonder."
But then, the figure laughed. "Your father is truly farsighted. He had you report your coordinates periodically just to let us trail you, always keeping us at a distance."
"He probably wanted to see if you had a chance of being chosen for the Morning Star Tier. If not, *then* he’d let us know."
Hearing this, Lan Hao’s expression soured even more. He said coldly, "It seems the Royal Court no longer needs this Morning Star Tier Profession, then."
"Now, don’t be angry," the figure placated. "Morning Star Spirituality is notoriously difficult to satisfy; it’s not for just anyone. Rest assured, after we obtain it, we will help you gain its recognition."
Lan Hao was greedy, but not naive enough to trust the figure’s words. He just sneered, "My father will negotiate the price. I’ll give you the coordinates now. If you can’t make it in ti, that’s on you, not ."
"Also, it’s suspected the Ancient King sent a sliver of his consciousness along with them."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lan Hao’s figure vanished, leaving the blurry figure to murmur to itself, "A Morning Star Tier... The Bronze Sect’s Eternal Silence Star probably can’t hold on for much longer. And the Bronze Ancient King..."
...
"The Bronze Sect..." Su Chen was back in his room, murmuring the na. Thanks to Wan Chen, he now had a much clearer picture of the organization.
The Bronze Sect revered the Ancient King, who reigned over thirty-seven Life Stars and commanded countless Professionals. Led by the Ancient King’s disciples, its internal structure was vast and complex.
One of its core institutions was the "Holy Hall," where Top Level Professionals served as ntors, training talented individuals from both within and outside the Sect. Qing Cang was one such ntor.
This was why Wan Chen and the others called him Master Qing.
The Holy Hall already had two "chosen ones" for Morning Star Tier Professions, the very sa title that Wan Chen and his two companions were determined to obtain.
The Sect also had two living Morning Star Tier Professionals.
Su Chen was genuinely surprised when he heard this.
But on second thought, it made sense. Relative to the vast number of Professionals, that figure was still incredibly small.
