"Holy shit!"
BANG!
The door to one of the challenge center’s rooms was suddenly thrown open. A pale-faced Wang Ye, drenched in sweat, rushed out, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Steward Deng! Steward Deng!"
His voice was frantic, and his expression was a mask of panic.
The commotion quickly attracted many of the Holy Hall candidates who were nearby.
The rooms in the main hall were almost all occupied, and there was even a line forming—a rare sight.
"What’s wrong?"
Steward Deng’s brow furrowed as he watched Wang Ye rush over, grabbing him to hold him still.
"A ntal shadow! A ntal shadow!"
Wang Ye pointed at his own head, repeating, "Quick, quick! The ntal shadow!"
Steward Deng glanced at him, a sharp glint in his eyes as his consciousness invaded Wang Ye’s Spirit Body and found the shadow.
About two or three minutes later, Wang Ye let out a long sigh of relief and staggered back a few steps, a look of lingering fear on his face. "That... that Su... Su Xingzhong is just too..."
He stamred for a mont, wanting to say "vicious," but thinking it wasn’t quite right. Finally, he managed to choke out two words: "A freak!"
"This has to do with Su Chen?"
Many of the people waiting in line, so of whom were even Tier Five Professionals, perked up their ears to listen.
Discovering that a Tier Four Professional was ranked above them, even if he was a Star Seed, left them feeling a little indignant. Naturally, they wanted to see what was going on.
"Obviously! That’s why he’s a Star Seed and you’re just so punk!" Steward Deng said gruffly, waving his hand dismissively. "Go on, get out of here. Don’t you know your own limits? Just focus on climbing the ranks honestly and stop trying to challenge those ahead of you!"
Though he said this aloud, Steward Deng was muttering to himself internally. ’This Su Chen really is impressive. That ntal shadow is quite intense; no wonder he’s ranked above all the Tier Five Professionals.’
Soon enough, another person scrambled out, shouting with a panicked look on their face, "Steward Deng! Steward Deng!"
Steward Deng’s face darkened. He already knew what was happening and sighed internally. The Stewards on duty were responsible for handling unexpected incidents like this.
It wasn’t just Su Chen; many Holy Hall mbers possessed abilities that left behind lingering effects. If not dealt with promptly, they could beco significant hidden dangers.
But these abilities were also a part of their strength. Forbidding their use would make it difficult for them to display their true power. At most, the challengers could be warned afterward to deal with the effects as soon as possible.
Before long, the entire first batch of challengers ca rushing out, their faces filled with terror, trembling as they lined up to be treated.
So curious onlookers asked around and soon understood what had happened. The new Star Seed had a spiritual pressure ability, and anyone who failed to withstand it would be left with a ntal shadow.
Just thinking about him would involuntarily trigger a feeling of reverence. It was completely ssed up.
"Where did he get an ability like that? Isn’t our new Star Seed from a Desolate Planet?"
Hearing this, so people began to have second thoughts.
Spiritual injuries were different from physical ones. Who knew if they would leave behind so hidden, long-term consequences?
What if they ran into Su Chen on the street one day and dropped to their knees on the spot? That would be way too humiliating.
Quietly, the crowd in the challenge center thinned out, leaving behind mostly Tier Five Professionals.
Steward Deng was sweating profusely from the effort. He primarily focused on physical professions; his spiritual side was only at the Tier Six level.
Three or four people would have been manageable, but there were far more than ten or so before him—twenty or thirty people were waiting in line. He hastily notified the other Stewards to co and help.
...
Outside Copper Heart, on a certain Floating Island, Wei Zhenghong disembarked from his ship, the Ba Yun. Soone was already waiting for him.
It was a wizened old man. Seeing him arrive, the man greeted him, "Ah, it is Wei Xingzhong. My master is still busy and is not seeing anyone."
"Alright, cut the crap." Wei Zhenghong was blunt, paying no mind to the old man’s age as he pushed him aside. "I’m guessing he’s about done with the lting process."
"Wei Xingzhong..." The old man trailed behind him, his expression slightly hesitant, but he didn’t make a move to stop him.
"Shen Yi’an!" Wei Zhenghong shouted at the top of his lungs as he set foot on the Floating Island.
This particular Floating Island had a unique character, with rock gardens and flowing water. Even the buildings on either side of the path didn’t look like they were made of tal, but rather so kind of wood.
Hearing the shout, soone peeked their head out of a house, but upon seeing it was Wei Zhenghong, they hastily ducked back inside.
"Wei Xingzhong, my master really is..."
"Let him in," a voice drifted out from the main building.
"This..." Even the old man was a bit surprised.
Wei Zhenghong let out a loud laugh. "Ha! I knew it. It’s been two months. If he still hadn’t succeeded, you’d be waiting to collect his corpse!"
Wei Zhenghong spoke without any reservations, striding into the main building.
A polished, mirror-like surface reflected a well-proportioned young man with his arms outstretched as female attendants helped dress him.
"I’m telling you, you Shen Family people have way too many rules. What era is this? You still need other people to dress you?"
Wei Zhenghong had complained about this countless tis. He made himself at ho, finding a place to sit down.
Shen Yi’an’s expression was indifferent. "Rules are rules."
Wei Zhenghong pursed his lips. The Shen Family was a long-established Morning Star Tier family within the Bronze Sect, possessing imnse power. Moreover, Shen Yi’an’s father was one of the seven Chairn.
The family hailed from a certain Life Star. Aside from their imnse internal strength, what the Sect mbers really loved to talk about were the Shen Family’s notoriously complicated rules.
"Did the Holy Profession lting succeed?"
"Naturally." Shen Yi’an nodded, his expression calm.
Wei Zhenghong asked in surprise, "You didn’t just succeed right now, did you?"
"You guessed correctly." Shen Yi’an adjusted his clothes. His outfit was quite distinctive: a white robe that reached his ankles, cinched at the waist with a cyan tal buckle.
