Colossal Boar
With a blaring horn, a battered truck passes dangerously close to .
But if I had foolishly landed right in the middle of the road, that’s to be expected. Hmm, I should’ve landed closer to the edge. But with Nina-san and Serai-san watching, I couldn’t help but try to act a little cooler.
And now, shaking the ground as it approaches, is the ga Big Boar.
Its imposing figure is like a mountain. Indeed, it’s the embodint of a mountain, a veritable mountain god. From its lower jaw, not two but four sharp tusks jut out. And beneath its thick, dark brown fur, it seems to have not just four legs, but six front legs and four hind legs.
Looking at just the legs, it’s like a massive trailer truck.
No, in monster terms, it’s more like Odin’s eight-legged steed, Sleipnir, from Norse mythology.
Well, either way, it’s got a lot of pig feet.
Oh, by the way, Sleipnir’s parent is Loki, the mischievous god. It’s a bit odd for a god’s child to be a horse, but well, that’s how it is. Even Gaia, the primordial goddess in Greek mythology, gave birth to gods, demons, and monsters alike.
I guess gods and monsters aren’t so different at their core, just with different directions.
While these thoughts flit through my mind, the colossal boar approaches, exhaling hot, snorting breaths. Wow, it’s truly imposing. The sheer speed and mass of its charge would likely result in an incredible impact.
But power-focused fighters like this are exactly the kind of opponents I excel against. Yes, with my [Sli] ability…
“Co forth, sli! [Mucus Wall]!!”
Leaping back lightly, I instantly materialize the mana I had already gathered and condensed into sli. In an instant, an incredibly sticky, formidable sli wall forms.
Without a mont’s delay, the colossal boar crashes into it.
I tid it so it couldn’t avoid the wall, but the boar showed no intention of dodging, charging straight in. It must be brimming with confidence, thinking, “Do you really think this can stop my charge?”
“““Splaaash!!!”””
The collision creates a violent shockwave, shaking the ground and air.
The sand and pebbles on the road ripple and dance like waves from the sudden transfer of kinetic energy. Glancing at Serai-san and the others on the wall, I see them covering their ears and ducking. Yeah, the noise must’ve been deafening.
But as for , standing right in front, I barely feel the impact.
That’s because the sli wall stretched out and absorbed most of the shock. Still, the boar’s charge is so powerful that it manages to break through the sli-covered wall.
“Wow, as expected of sothing so huge. But unfortunately, this is as far as you go.”
The colossal boar, having broken through the sli wall with its trendous charge, is now slowed by the sli’s powerful adhesive. Its legs are ensnared, and it collapses forward, slamming its massive snout into the asphalt. Now it’s completely trapped, stuck and immobilized.
But that’s to be expected.
While three sides of the sli wall had no support, the bottom edge was firmly stuck to the asphalt. Once the boar stepped into that ultra-sticky sli, its legs were bound, and it couldn’t move.
On top of that, the sli covering its face blocks its vision and sense of sll, and most critically, its ability to breathe.
So at this point, it’s ga over.
Despite its size, the colossal boar is now no different from a mouse caught on a sticky trap.
““[Mucus Shot]!!””
Oh, even as it struggles to move its hind legs slightly and tries to escape, Nina-san and Serai-san, still on the wall, fire sli bullets at it. Thanks to the boar conveniently exposing its belly as it fell, they’re helping to seal the deal with more sli.
“（…Guh!…Grr!…Buh!?）”
Through the mbrane-like sli, I can hear the colossal boar gasping for air, unable to breathe.
But at this point, unless it can sohow deal with the sli, it’s as good as dead. Still, power-focused monsters like this tend to have tough defenses and high vitality, so finishing it off won’t be easy.
But after taking down nurous large monsters, I’ve gotten the hang of how to end them. So I’ll make sure this colossal boar doesn’t suffer any longer.
“Go, Red Sli. [Alien Parasite Attack].”
By sensing the wavelength of a monster’s mana, I can roughly tell whether it can be tad or not.
So I prefer to ta monsters whose wavelengths match mine rather than kill them, but if that’s not possible, like with this one, there’s no other choice.
(This colossal boar is such a magnificent creature, it feels a bit cruel to kill it…)
The Red Sli, erging from my prosthetic leg, silently crawls over the sli and slips into the boar’s ear.
Going into detail about this part would get pretty grueso, so… well, you get the idea…
