Mountain Dungeon – 10th Floor
"Are you sure you're not hurt anywhere?"
"Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks, Shizu..."
Serai-san bashfully expresses her gratitude to Nina-san, who checks her for any injuries with concern.
(Hmm, it's a beautiful thing to see such camaraderie.)
Nina-san, who’s known for effortlessly manipulating n, seems completely unfazed by such tactics.
Yet, deep within her heart, she harbors this kind of overflowing affection. Seeing her like this makes you realize just how profound human nature can be.
But that aside, I should apologize for putting her in danger.
"Serai-san, I’m sorry for putting you in harm’s way. I wish I could’ve explained things better..."
I approach the two and offer my apology.
"Eh? N-no, it’s not your fault, Egetsu-san! Wanting to do sothing about this dungeon was my own selfishness. Plus, I dragged you two into it..."
Despite having just been in danger, Serai-san doesn’t bla —instead, she bows her head apologetically.
"See? Mochi says the sa thing, so there’s no need to worry, right? We Dungeon Saviors are in this together."
As we keep bowing to each other, Nina-san steps in with a gentle laugh. That makes Serai-san and exchange glances and chuckle too.
"Yeah, we’re all for one."
"All in one!"
"It’s one for all, Mochi. That doesn’t even make sense..."
…….
A bond forged by burning friendship and overflowing affection.
Before these three hearts could unite and splatter mucus everywhere, the enemy was no more.
And so, as we delved deeper toward the dungeon’s depths, we discovered a space on the 10th floor unlike anything we’d seen before.
"This place is..."
"Whoa, we’ve ended up in so crazy spot..."
It was a massive, natural cave-like do. And by massive, I an huge.
The walls were connected to nurous tunnels, giving it the feel of so kind of terminal. The space was so vast it could easily fit two school gymnasiums, with a high ceiling and uneven ground. Yet, at the center of the do was a flat, circular stone stage.
"Hmm, this setup definitely screams sothing’s about to happen... but—!?"
"SCREEEEEEE...!"
From the tunnels along the walls, several five-ter-long giant ants with sharp spikes jutting from their bodies ca pouring out. These ants had grown progressively larger as we descended through the 9th and 10th floors.
"Hey, these guys are different from the ants before, right?"
"Yeah, they are. They’ve got way more spikes—looks tough!"
The newly appeared five-ter giant ants weren’t just enlarged versions of the previous Black Ants. These had sharp spikes protruding from their joints and heads, with far more nacing faces and builds.
"Hmm... These could be called Great Ants, I suppose. Be careful—they’re definitely much stronger!"
But the seven Great Ants that erged didn’t imdiately attack. Instead, they ignored us, surrounded the stone stage, and ford a defensive circle around it.
"...What are they planning? Ah—!?"
The Great Ants gathered and simultaneously released magical energy. In response, the stone stage began to sink. Even the tunnels along the walls started sealing shut in sync. We hesitated, watching their movents, but it seems we were a step too late.
"Are we... trapped!?"
"Hmph, so it seems. Looks like they’re demanding a deathmatch."
The tension in the air grew thicker, crackling with intensity.
This presence... Yeah, a boss-level enemy is coming.
