She hurried over to Joanna Lawrence and Ashton Heath.
“Ashton, wait a mont, I have sothing to say to you,” Rebecca Kelloway called out to Heath.
Ashton heard, but did not stop. He still held Joanna’s arm and continued walking out.
“Ashton!” Seeing that Heath ignored her entirely, Rebecca’s face crumbled. Wearing high heels, she hot-pursued him, her annoyance palpable.

“Ashton, you’re really ignoring now, aren’t you? Won’t you even talk to ?”
Heath refused to acknowledge her, so Rebecca rushed in front of him to block his way, preventing him from moving forward.
Ashton finally stopped, looked down, and coldly said to her, “I have nothing to say to you, move out of my way.”
This wasn’t the first ti he’d treated her so coldly.
Ever since their relationship had soured thoroughly, whenever they t, Ashton treated her with icy indifference, like a stranger.
Rebecca thought she should have grown used to it by now.
She didn’t think it would hurt her anymore.
But, seeing the aloof expression on his face and the way he was treating her colder than a stranger, her heart felt as if it had been cruelly stung by a razor-sharp blade, the pain was unbearable.
She didn’t understand.
Why could he be so rciless and heartless?
Was his heart made of stone?
Even though she had done so wrong things, she never did anything to harm him.
She just plotted against that bitch Joanna Lawrence.

Ashton Heath sneered and responded, “Do you really think I don’t know about those things you did in secret? When your family was in trouble, the Heaths didn’t help, but we also didn’t add insult to injury.”
“The Heaths don’t owe the Kelloway family anything, and we don’t have the obligation to help you either. Why do you think the Heaths must help your family when you’re in trouble? And if we don’t, we are in the wrong towards your family? Don’t make the generational friendship between our families more significant than it is. Even if the Heaths had more of a relation to the Kelloways, we still wouldn’t be obligated to help.”
“Helping out is a favor. Not helping is the norm. If the Heaths were in trouble and we asked for your family’s help, I suspect the Kelloways would have done sothing even more decisive.”
