“Did I wake you up?” Ashton Heath sat down beside the bed.
Joanna, rubbing her eyes with a sleepy look on her face, reached out to hug him. Her smooth, fair cheek rested on his chest, and she spoke with a slightly hoarse voice, “No, I woke up by myself.”
“Hmm.” Ashton gently held the back of her head with one hand and kissed her forehead. “Did you call for sothing?”
“Ashton, did you get those hot search topics removed?”
Joanna had just spoken with Linda on the phone.
Linda asked her how she was going to handle the situation with the hot search topics and whether she wanted to respond to them.
That’s because a new batch of online trolls was trying to steer public opinion, suggesting that Joanna and Ashton’s relationship was truly in trouble and that they might break up soon.
Moreover, these trolls had provided lots of “evidence.”
Evidence one: Ashton had not yet made a blog post defending Joanna or responding to the hot search topics, pointing to problems in their relationship.
Evidence two: Joanna showed no intention of responding, which must an these accusations had hit the mark.
Evidence three: rumors don’t start without a reason. If such gossip was circulating, then there must be so truth to it.
These professional trolls were adept at manipulating public opinion. Combined with their control over various comnt sections, the innocent popcorn eaters were easily swayed to believe their words, expressing regret and lantation. Of course, there were also many who took delight in their misfortune.
“Oh, are Joanna and Ashton really going to break up? I think they’re such a great match, both good-looking and with similar family backgrounds. It also seems like Ashton truly likes her. It would be such a pity if they split.”
“Weren’t they supposed to hold their wedding soon? The date was set for next year, and both families approved. “Don’t kid yourself. Even if they didn’t see the hot search topics, wouldn’t Joanna’s team have? If her team saw them, wouldn’t they tell her? It’s not like these items just ca out – they’ve been up for half a day now. Saying they haven’t seen them is just a la excuse.”
Even Linda was saying, “Joanna, does Ashton not know about this yet? Haven’t you told him?”
“I think you guys should post a blog response, or have soone from the company draft a statent, and then you can just post it?”
“Linda, let think about it a bit more. I’ll get back to you soon.”
