"Don’t worry about ." Joanna Lawrence looked at the maid who had co over for the third ti, rubbed her brow with her hand, and said irritably, "I’ll go back after sitting for a while longer."
"But Ms. Joanna....."
Just as the maid was about to persuade her more, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching from behind. She turned to see who it was, and imdiately lowered her head deferentially, saying, "Mr. Ashton."
Hearing the maid’s call for Mr. Ashton, Joanna raised her head.
A handso man dressed in black walked up to her.
"I heard from Mr. Rowan that you’ve been sitting in the garden all afternoon. Did sothing happen?" Ashton Heath looked down at the girl sitting on the bench, her brows furrowed, and her face full of worry, clearly troubled.
Seeing that Ashton had co, the maid tactfully turned and left, leaving the space for the husband and wife.
"You’re back." Joanna didn’t give Ashton a hug as she usually would when he ca ho from work. She just turned her head, glanced at him, and even her voice was listless.
"Yes, I just got ho." Ashton looked at her carefully. "Mr. Rowan said you might be in a bad mood. What happened? Why do you look so down? Is it sothing at work or sothing else? Just tell ."
Ever since Joanna started thinking that she couldn’t conceive a baby because there was sothing wrong with her body, she had been feeling very down.
She had been down for a whole day.
She even thought about whether she and Ashton would get divorced because of this.
Because if it really was her fault that she couldn’t get pregnant, even if Ashton himself didn’t mind, the other mbers of the Heath family would definitely mind.
A wealthy and influential family like the Heath family.
They definitely cared about their offspring.
Even if Madam Heath liked her a lot, if she knew she couldn’t have children, she might...
Not to ntion Madam Heath.
She herself would probably mind a lot too, right?
Ashton wanted a child so badly, which ant he must really love children.
How could his wife be a woman who couldn’t have children?
As she thought about it, Joanna felt even more upset.
"Ashton, I’ve been thinking about sothing all day."
"What is it?" Ashton pulled her closer to him, looking at her reddened eyes, his face darkening. "Did soone bully you? Tell , what happened? Whatever it is, I’ll face it with you and help you solve it."
The more he cared about her, the worse Joanna felt.
When she used to be indifferent to Ashton, she thought that divorce was not a big deal.
But now...
Just thinking about the possibility of divorce made her so sad that she couldn’t help but tears falling.
"Ashton, why can’t I conceive a baby even though we’ve tried so hard?" Joanna said softly, choking back sobs. "Brandon and Aria succeeded with just one try, which ans the fertility in your family must be good."
"But why can’t I conceive a baby?"
"Do you think, do you think... maybe there’s sothing wrong with my body, and that’s why I can’t get pregnant?" Raising her head, Joanna’s teary eyes looked afraid and worried, and she couldn’t help but cry.
With apprehension and fear in her eyes, she asked, "If it’s because of , will they force us to divorce?"
