The commotion startled both Porter and Lucus, especially Lucus, who was frightened like a koala, tightly clinging to Porter’s body and staring at the kitchen in horror.
Porter also stood up imdiately, holding Lucus.
Thick smoke began to pour out of the kitchen.
Porter was about to go to the kitchen to see what was going on, when the kitchen door was suddenly pushed open with a loud bang.
The next second, Annie Lawrence ca running out with a pale face and a terrified expression.
Before Porter could ask her what had happened, she scread and ran behind him, grabbed his clothes, and said in panic, "Fire, there’s a fire in the kitchen, the kitchen is burning!"
Her touch made Porter feel extrely uncomfortable.
Porter was about to push her away when he heard the news, his face imdiately changed: "What, there’s a fire in the kitchen?"
