"So many people saw it, I got beaten so badly. And now you’re actually telling to forget about it. How could you do this? Did soone bribe you to deliberately help them?"
Annie Lawrence’s anger reached its peak, and she could no longer choose her words carefully.
The police had been speaking politely to her.
However, when they heard her accuse them of taking bribes, their faces darkened.
The police officer glared coldly with his face stern and snapped: "How dare you talk like that? If you continue to slander law enforcent officers without proof, do you believe we could detain you right now?"
"Did I say it wrong!" Annie raised her head, her face full of extre anger as she yelled at the police officer, "I’ve been beaten up and so badly at that. You don’t arrest those who beat , let alone punish them, but now you’re telling to forget about it?"
"And to fine ."
"If it’s not because I’m not benefiting you, then why are you doing this to ?"
"Ms. Aria, I’m warning you once again: don’t slander law enforcent without any proof. Your injuries have been examined, and they don’t even et the level of minor injuries, much less the standard for punishnt," the officer said.
"Plus, you claim you didn’t fight back, but so of the students were indeed injured. Witnesses also confird that it was a mutual fight and not just a one-sided beating."
"We police officers deal with things fairly. You can either pay the fine now and leave, or if you want to make more trouble, we won’t mind having you stay at the police station longer."
Annie’s face showed her unwillingness, but she wanted to say more.
However, she was afraid that the police might really detain her soon.
So, despite the anger and reluctance in her heart, she had no choice but to pay the fine as the police officer said.

After paying the fine, Annie Lawrence walked out of the police station with her swollen face that looked like a pig’s head.
Rose Liall was waiting for her outside.
As soon as she saw her, she imdiately ca up, grabbed her arm, and started sobbing: "Annie, they didn’t give you a hard ti, did they? Those little beasts are simply inhuman! How could they beat you like this? You must have the police arrest them and lock them up!"
"Lock them up? The police said we fought each other, so they fined each of us and let them leave," Annie said through gritted teeth. Hearing Rose crying next to her, she felt even more annoyed and snapped at her impatiently, "Why are you crying? All you do is cry! It’s driving crazy."
Rose was shocked by her shout and stopped crying imdiately.
"How could... how could this happen..." Seeing Annie’s gloomy face and her bad mood, Rose spoke even more cautiously, "They beat you like this and they won’t catch them?"
"How could this happen?" Annie suddenly sneered, her eyes revealing disgust and disdain, and she spoke with utter contempt, "It’s all because I’m not as lucky as Joanna Lawrence to have powerful parents backing ."
"If I were the daughter of the White family, would I have to suffer these indignities? If I were the daughter of the White family, I’d have everything I wanted and lead a glorious life where no one dares to disrespect ."
That ti, she almost succeeded.
If her identity hadn’t been discovered, everything Joanna had now would have belonged to her.
