Joanna Lawrence stood at the entrance of the hospital room, listening to the conversations coming from inside. Hesitating for a mont, she pushed the door open.
It took her almost a few minutes before she finally reached out to push open the door.
Hearing the noise, Benjamin, who had been sitting by the bed, turned his head.
Seeing Joanna and Ashton Heath in the doorway, Benjamin was stunned for a mont, then joyfully exclaid, "Joanna, you’re here."
In the hospital bed...
Annie Lawrence, who had a lifeless expression on her face, suddenly turned her head, and her equally lifeless eyes seed to co to life with a sudden flash of brilliance.
It was the brilliance of hatred, stirred up intensely.
In particular, when she saw that it was Ashton Heath who had co with Joanna, her hatred surged even more fiercely.
This man was as noble and unattainable as a god; he was not soone that insignificant Joanna could ever hope to match.

"Annie, look, Joanna is here," Benjamin turned his head and told Annie, who was lying in bed with venomous eyes fixed on Joanna. "Joanna has co to see you."
Joanna wanted to correct Benjamin that she was not Annie’s sister.
She had nothing to do with Annie.
But thinking about it, she held back.
Considering Annie’s current situation, Benjamin must be feeling terrible. She decided not to argue about it for now.
There’s no point in arguing with a dying person, anyway.
Joanna walked into the hospital room, hand-in-hand with Ashton Heath.
The air was filled with the sll of disinfectant, sowhat irritating the nostrils. Joanna walked to the bedside, stopped, and looked down at Annie’s ghastly pale face.
With her head tilted back, Annie’s face was already void of color. However, when her eyes t Joanna’s, a strong hatred erupted, so intense that even Ashton Heath standing beside Joanna could feel it.
Ashton’s arm wrapped around Joanna’s waist tightened, subconsciously drawing her closer to him.
It was a defensive action.
Witnessing this scene, Annie felt as if she had been stabbed all over her body. It was unbearable.
This pain was far worse than when David had stabbed her before.
So, Ashton Heath was afraid she would do sothing to that insignificant Joanna huh?
He was on guard against her?
Did he care so much about Joanna, that insignificant woman?
"Annie, I’m here," Joanna said calmly as she locked eyes with Annie for a few seconds before looking away. "Dad said you had to see , so I ca. If you have anything you want to say to , now is the ti."
Annie’s resentful gaze fell on Ashton’s hand gripping Joanna, staring at it for a mont before finally looking away, visibly disgruntled.
There wasn’t much spirit left in her eyes.
But when she looked at Joanna, her eyes shone with light, reflected by the deep hatred within.
"Joanna, you...you’re finally here," she struggled to speak, seemingly expending her very life energy with each word uttered.
