"Damn, those work quite well! Sad that it's just an overall boost to speed on a more controlled level; I wouldn't mind a version of that spell that just shot forwards like I was coming out of a cannon!"
Anput grinned at from the side of the training grounds as she watched dart to and fro, my ankles shrouded in a greenish haze thanks to the Wind Mana that coalesced into wings just outside of my boots, all four of them fluttering whenever I moved.
They did just what I needed them to do, enhancing my overall speed for a long period of ti while also granting a benefit to my control as I was able to apply controlled bursts of speed into whatever direction I needed, which helped counteract so of the over achieving dashes I took...
"That isn't a difficult spell to create, you know that right? The question is whether or not you can endure the pain~!"
My mate just rolled her eyes at and crossed her arms, watching as I darted away from her before flinging myself at her with a grin as I stopped just short of colliding with her, showing off my speed and the control I had thanks to the new ink I had received.
"A good enchantress like yourself shouldn't be putting in a lot of pain for a tattoo that small, right? Or were you not as good of an enchantress as you were claiming to be~? Which is it, my love~?"
Her attempt to rouse so anger inside of was pitiful to say the least, but I gave her a flash of my fangs as I replied "If you want to hurt you, you can just ask... might make the night more interesting...", earning myself an even wider grin as she shrugged.
"Well ~! The pain aside, go ahead and get that spell drawn up for then~!"
Anput gave a firm smack on my ass before pushing towards the door as she sent to go to work for her, though she followed out and gave another teasing spank alongside a kiss before going to do her own thing, likely finishing up the last of the armor and supporting gear that she needed to make.
With that in mind I decided to be a good 'wife' and do what she wanted of , finding the notebooks and theory crafting the right spell for her needs alongside Leone as we prepared ourselves for the next bout of tattooing, which would be fueled this ti around with many high quality potions.
Mana potions to keep our Cores stocked up on fuel while the stamina potions could keep our bodies functioning, as well as our minds, at least to the sa degree that a surplus of sugared up coffees could keep soone energized and focused, which was probably not that far off of many tattoo artists back in my world...
We also ca up with quite a few other things that needed to get inked onto our skin, more complicated and necessary things compared to the tattoos that Anput wanted, but that only ant that those potions she had made were even more needed than before.
The process of getting ready for the new ink compared to the process of actually getting inked was vastly different in terms of how draining it was, the length of ti it took to create, refine, customize, and plan out the tattoo not taking that much out of us besides ti when compared to the drain that ca with putting the Magic Pen to skin.
Since Anput wasn't present just yet, I started working on one of the simpler tattoos that Leone wanted, putting a small Ritual Circle on her wrist that would help focus her mana during any spells that needed a charging period, before we swapped and she began to work on two Ritual Circles on my side, right in the middle of my ribs.
The feeling of the Magic Pen scraping just into your skin before delivering a potent supply of mana directly into your flesh was hardly a pleasant one, even more so since the chill of my Water Mana was even too much for ; I could deal with below freezing temperatures usually, but the way in which I was encountering this chill was different.
It cut through the usual avenues of 'comfort' I could muster and instead burrowed itself firmly into being extrely pervasive in a way that I wasn't appreciative of, but the results made up for the horrible experience I was going through, so I just dealt with the frigid agony that spread slowly through my sides and instead thought of how aweso this was going to look by the end of everything.
A spell to encase in a layer of water which also acted as healing tattooed on both of my sides in order to guarantee the effect worked was nice, and after that was done I was given the Magic Pen again and allowed to lay on Leone's back while I carefully applied a tattoo to the back of her neck.
We traded the Magic Pen a few more tis for the smaller tattoos before moving on to the one that was going to drain a lot from us, which was the twin tattoos on Jahi's ribcage, the harshness of her radiant Light Mana guaranteeing that we both needed to work on one while the other rested, but just like with mine the end result was worth the migraine.
More gold was etched into the blue 'marble' of Jahi's body, and eventually we were left with the realization that those golden lines only made her all the more appetizing as we looked at her from afar while the other was working, sothing that helped take the edge off for all of us as we felt the seconds tick by slowly, one after another.
Ti was slowly 'running out' as everyone got prepared, the Duchess affirming that Draka was ready while Mom got ready to say her goodbyes to our Mothers and sisters; then there was Lady Fenyras who was now itching to depart just so she could end up in the Labyrinthian...
