The sudden eruption of power beside signaled the launching of Leone's spell, and imdiately I was greeted with an up close viewing of what would happen if soone's blood was set ablaze whilst it was still flowing through their veins.

Literally set ablaze, not just heated up nor increasing their sensitivity to sothing; the blood flowing through the Dog Goddess' veins burst into flas like it had been turned into oil, spreading throughout her with every single beat of her heart and dealing damage I couldn't even begin to imagine.

The howls imdiately grew more panicked and agonized as she fought desperately against the chains, fighting for her freedom and fighting for a way to escape this torturous treatnt she had been subjected to.

Each howl weighed down on us as it grew in pitch, straining our hearing and pressing down on us as the Dog Goddess searched for any possible way to alleviate so of her pain; the howls also drew the attention of the Serpent Goddess nearby, but Mom was hitting her stride now as she occupied the even larger monster over on her side.

So it was just us over here, looking out at the black skinned woman yanking her arms this way and that while ember laden ash spilled from her jaws, pooling around her legs and shrouding her slightly from sight.

Worried that it might be so kind of spell I focused the winds of the vortex around us on the Dog Goddess, dispersing the ash and revealing her once more, but the more she howled the weaker the winds beca.

Waves of sound pushed back against the winds, clashing together and allowing the ash to pool up once more, obscuring more of her from view and prompting Leone and I to attempt to attack her again and again, hoping to finish her off here and now instead of potentially letting her break free.

With one hand still firmly wrapped in the mana that was connected to the lance I was slower to react than Leone, but the winds I sent forwards were the driving force for revealing our enemy once again, while the Vampire just opted for raw damage instead.

And yet our combined efforts weren't enough to keep the Dog Goddess from continuing her pained, enraged howls or from surrounding herself in a black and red cloud of mana empowered ash.

I knew sothing was wrong imdiately when the lance ca sailing back towards , the force I had been exerting on it in this 'fight' against the Dog Goddess it was stuck in no longer being countered by her, so it flew straight for my face, making it abundantly clear that the Dog Goddess wasn't there anymore.

But the howling persisted, and the cloud of ash continued to grow and grow even as the lance returned to , half lted and caked in blood and tiny bits of flesh; there was still 'sothing' there, but whatever the monster had done it wasn't sothing either of us were prepared for.

Especially not when the cloud of ash began to move towards us, drifting through the wind I was blasting at it and lazily approaching, carrying the continuous howls of agony alongside the anger of our enemy, who was apparently no longer flesh and blood.

When two vibrant red orbs flickered into being within the cloud it beca obvious that sohow the monster had turned itself into ash, and imdiately Leone and I began to put space between us as we rushed backwards.

Outpacing the cloud wasn't hard, but was becoming hard was keeping our focus as the howling just kept coming, that cloud emitting a continuous wave of sound that washed over us and pricked at our skin.

Literally pricked at our skin, with each wave of energy the Dog Goddess sent our way carrying heaps of Fire Mana that imdiately dispersed amongst our bodies; for Leone it was bearable, but for ...

My skin was already blistering a little, while the armor I wore grew hotter with every passing second, leaving in a spot that was highly unfavorable going forwards; I had already been sweating but now it was soaking my leathers, causing it to cling to my skin and making it easier for the heat to find as it was transferred by the liquid.

Nausea was the least of my worries though as I began to sweat out more water than I had in , and it was clear that - despite Leone being the one to deal the most damage to it - the Dog Goddess was after in particular, sniffing out the weaker of us currently and moving in for the kill.

That cloud of ash continued to drift around lazily as it pursued , and all it took was one misstep from for it to reach an opportune spot, allowing the Dog Goddess to rematerialize and step out of the cloud, halting her howling for a mont and letting her reach for with that arm of ruby fire.

A triumphant sneer was visible even on her animalistic head, and as I stared up at her I tried to fight against the heat that was enveloping , but it was to no use as the ash began to layer itself on my skin, showing firsthand how insidious my frost was to fight against.

Even as I flushed myself with water the ash just remained, burning itself into my skin and sapping all of my energy as it dealt damage over ti; all the while the monster herself could just lazily reach for , gloating in this sudden turn around as she took her ti.

When I swung the War Pick at her face that smug sneer vanished, and the low growl followed by the baring of her fangs signaled the end for as she just pulled her head back, avoiding the attack and leaving defenseless.

At least, it would seem, since the mont her 'fingers' were about to clasp around my face and burn my skin another person entered the cloud of ash that had enveloped us both; the already red skin of Leone didn't show any burns easily, and as she reached out to grab the Dog Goddess' arm I idly wondered if she could even get burned...

My mind was sluggish again and I had to just wonder if I was unlucky, only to smile wryly as I was pushed out of the cloud a mont later and left to watch as the Dog Goddess followed, my hearing gone as a giant explosion rocked the area around us.

I staggered back a few steps but the Dog Goddess was sent flying, the entire left side of her body gone thanks to whatever Leone had done, and the sudden loss of hearing was very welcod for as I saw the Dog Goddess... whimpering, or howling..?

I wasn't sure, but I was sure of the fact that her left arm, part of her ribcage, hip and even so of her jaw were gone, the black skin peeled back to reveal the red flesh and white bone beneath alongside the ruby embers that were spilling out like blood.

She was in pain worse than I was, and before either of us could really comprehend what had happened the Vampire was back with a vengeance, doing the sa to the Dog Goddess as she had done to as she grabbed her by the snout and said sothing, which I couldn't hear.

But again, I could see the compressed explosion of flas that ca from her palm that caused the Dog Goddess to turn into a 'normal' woman... since her head was now gone completely and her body was slowly catching fire, with her fur going first.
