"It is almost unbelievable, is it not? It’s been about a month since they arrived and it already looks like this..."

Standing at the window overlooking the land surrounding our house, we all took this mont to marvel at what we were staring at as the sun began to ascend once more, shining its brilliant rays over the fruits of our labors.

Where it had once just been a single opulent manor residing over a spattering of simple yet functional buildings, now we were looking down upon the seed we had planted finally beginning to sprout.

The roads were completely paved and lined with lampposts, the buildings were better constructed and far more nurous, the central square was bustling with activity and most importantly, the fields were absolutely flourishing.

And honestly I was beginning to think that the Demon Clans were really holding out on the entire Empire since we had harvested those fields twice now, and in doing so we had secured food for almost the rest of the year, so long as we enjoyed a diet consisting of bread and oats, nothing more.

Even still, just knowing that we were growing that much food was incredible, though obviously everything good had to be balanced by sothing bad; the Ciriesa’s were telling us that we needed to go back and fine tune the Ritual Circles so that they didn’t work as well, because the more they grew the weaker they got.

Short term gains would beco long term problems, so we needed to stop the fields from growing so many crops within a short ti, but even still it was just unbelievable... especially since we had so much nutrition for the soil that worrying about crop rotations wasn’t sothing on the mind.

We were in an area that would experience winter but not to the sa extent, and as long as we prepared for it and got everything that we needed, we could continue growing crops even when the air began to get a bit of a chill, which ant there was a very good chance our city would beco one of the Empire’s breadbaskets.

If we beca one of the breadbaskets we could achieve a large swathe of benefits from the governnt, ranging from reduced taxes to specialists coming over to improve everything even more, which would be very welco.

Though I think the Demon Clans were pretty much the specialists in this regards... though maybe the Elves would have a few families that knew a thing or two; either way we were hopefully well on our way to becoming that important to the Empire, and if we were that would an a very nice lifestyle going forwards.

"Well, that’s what happens when we work hard, no?"

Leone stretched and turned away from the city, heading back over towards her closet to pick out her outfit for today; in doing so she provided quite the sight for us all, and without missing a beat her stride turned far more seductive as she put on a show.

"It is indeed..."

Nodding appreciatively, Jahi only tore her gaze from Leone’s swaying hips when she realized there wasn’t much ti to do anything, so she looked back towards the city and took a breath, taking it all in from above.

"And we’re going to receive the final sanctioned group of settlers in two months ti... yet it already looks like this. We’re about 150 in total out here, in Arx Amator. 150 people, mainly farrs but also a nice influx of all sorts of people... and it’s starting to show, isn’t it?"

"You an the bustling market down there where everyone is trying to sell whatever it is that they can? Extra food for a little cheaper than what we sell, little knickknacks to decorate your room, furniture, small weapons, tools..?"

"Exactly. It’s... alive. The city is breathing, almost. Gold is flowing slowly in and out, the rchants are coming weekly to bring a new batch of goodies for everyone... food is plentiful, space is available...

Everything just seems so nice, so smooth... Part of the reason why I’m waiting for another of those hordes to be three tis larger or sothing is because of that~! But still, the fact that we managed to turn this from nothing into sothing in just over a month and a half is crazy to ."

Leaning on Jahi’s arm, I cuddled with the Demoness before smirking at Anput as the Jackalkin did the sa, though she imdiately slid a hand down sowhere it shouldn’t be, turning this from a welco celebration of what we had done into sothing... more.

I helped her, of course, but even after we worked the Demoness up into an eruption of happiness it was still us just staring at the city, marveling at what we had done and what we had left to do.

"There is still so much for us to do, yet it feels like we can finally... breathe. We don’t have to have our heads down grinding this out anymore, though we definitely can’t just relax completely right now."

"Well, you in particular~! Offering to lead the group of adventurers over to the Dungeon for a monthly hunt, wanting to personally oversee the bureaucracy, taking walks around every morning and night..."

The Demoness just gave a smile as I listed her ever long agenda for each day, which only ever seed to grow and never shrink; honestly I was beginning to worry since she didn’t ever seem to want to stop, because if she ended up burning herself out I had no idea how to take over and keep things straight until she got back into it.

But that was where Anput and Leone were ant to co in and help as well; despite being a more warrior minded individual, Anput still received the necessary lessons on bureaucracy back when she was just a Begum, so she could help to an extent on most things.

Then there was Leone, who had been taught quite a bit and seed to be capable enough, though I will admit she lacked so of the sternness that seed necessary for controlling everything from the top instead of just being a large piece in the overall puzzle.

Either way I just hoped the Demoness understood what she was doing, because what we were looking out on right now wasn’t a small settlent; it was the beginning of an actual city, even if it was just currently a ’town’.

At the very least we were going to be growing rather rapidly because after that third group ca over to settle, we were ant to start opening ourselves up to more and more people from the Empire seeking a new start, and honestly I don’t doubt that we would reach the required population to be classified as a city soti in the near future.
