"That is a lot of materials..."
Looking at the four wagons that had rumbled to a stop in the middle of the square, I nodded at Jahi’s idle observation and instead just had to wonder what would go into making these incredible pieces of magic work...
That was sothing that we were not going to be privy to whatsoever, sothing that was made obvious by the six ornately armored warriors that were the Empress’ personal guards; where the Knights were powerful because of their individuality these guards were a force to be reckoned with because of their coordination.
The custom draconic armor and sheer heat radiating off of them was almost oppressive even from here, and the longer we stared at them the hotter things seed to get since they took our stares as so form of unnecessary intrigue that was ’dangerous’.
That was why I knew we weren’t ever going to know what made these Transportation Circles tick, and while the magic obsessed nutcase inside of lanted that fact the current pregnant just looked away from the warriors and instead at the surrounding citizens.
They had all gathered for the rather obvious reason of staring at these arrivals - both new and returning - and being in awe of them, especially the towering, black skinned Demon Wolf that was grinning at us from the mont she stepped out from one of the wagons.
Beside her was Lady D’Arcon, the white clad ’Saintess’ clutching her staff and trying to conceal the faint blush that had spread across her face from whatever Lady Fenyras had said to her beforehand; they were the two that had co to ensure everything went smoothly, and that was how I knew we most certainly were not allowed to know.
"Lady D’Arcon, Lady Fenyras, welco to Arx Amator. Please, let us have your bags taken up to the Manor."
I still played the part of the warm host despite not feeling ’good’ about Lady Fenyras at all, and she proved right imdiately as her eye sharpened as it landed on my belly, that silver orb blazing with need.
Thankfully with the Saintess present she wasn’t able to be her usual self all that easily, and having her waist pinched by the holy woman made her frown before she just shrugged and replied "No need to, we’ll get them. First things first, get a good bottle of wine. Secondly, tell where we can put this damn thing."
Wiping her hands together and grinning at us both, she waited for a mont before that grin widened as Jahi had one of the Demons rush off towards the Manor to fetch a ’good’ bottle of wine for the ever overbearing Demon Wolf before she turned towards with a brow raised.
"If I may, how does the Transportation Circle work? Can anyone with mana activate it, or is it sothing that requires a ’key’ to operate? Can it be damaged easily? How much space does it take up? Is there a requirent for environntal mana that we need to be concerned about?"
The rapid fire questions made Lady Fenyras grunt softly in displeasure as she looked away from , her interest waning imdiately while her ears twitched atop her head as she listened for sothing that actually interested her.
Lady D’Arcon just gave a smile and continued to hold her staff close, not giving an imdiate answer nor caring when I let out a sigh and said "Very well, pick out a few suitable locations and let us determine how they would fit in with the existing infrastructure, if you’d please."
She nodded at that and turned to inform the six warriors to move everything closer to the Manor, making sigh again before I gave Lady Fenyras a wary look as she asked "So both of you furry brats got knocked up at the sa ti?"
"Anput and I are both pregnant, yes. with her pups, and her with Leone’s child."
The Demon Wolf’s expression softened a little at that as she nodded, that gleaming silver eye turning towards the Manor like she was searching for Leone already, though when she couldn’t find her she just shrugged and continued to look around with a bit of curiosity.
"Mm, that’s the other reason I was sent for this. My dearest asked to perform a few more checkups for you both and help in whatever way I could. You in particular might require so more care, Miss Katherine."
"Why is that?"
Jahi imdiately wrapped her arm around and stared at the white clad woman with a bit of a heavy gaze, though the one to answer was lady Fenyras, who chuckled and replied "Because Kat here is overflowing with Ice Mana, and her mate is overflowing with strong Fire Mana. That sort of conflict can be a bit taxing on the body, especially when there’s multiple pups involved."
Having yet another thing to worry about in regards to the large belly I now had was definitely not sothing I wanted to hear, yet there wasn’t really anything I could do nor was it sothing I would change even after everything that I learned.
Still, I couldn’t help but smile wryly at that since it was just sothing that we had constantly overlooked, and it was also painting a rather interesting picture of my future since all three of my wives had potent mana types.
Both Anput and Leone had strong Fire Mana - with Anput’s tal Mana being even ’worse’ since it was so rigid and strong as well as hot - while Jahi had Light Mana, which would probably be quite the conflicting elent to have running around inside of your body.
Mana type might not be as impactful as they were making it out to be, but that didn’t change the fact that it was another thing added onto the plethora of other things that made our future so ’difficult’.
Their races primarily, plus the strength we were all at dragging down the chances sowhat - apparently, anyways - and now we threw mana type on there as well... it just made everything complicated, but I suppose that was just our life at this point.
