They weren’t Griffin Knights, but rather controllers.
Just like horses with different classifications, such as draft horses and warhorses, Griffins too are divided into ordinary riding Griffins and elite combat Griffins, with differences shown in their size and Challenge Level.
Ordinary riding Griffins are mostly around four ters in length, with a Challenge Level of Level 2, while elite combat Griffins have an average Challenge Level of Level 3, and special individuals can even reach Level 4 or higher.
Generally, only elite combat Griffins are trained to be aerial combat mounts, and the personnel associated with them are referred to as Griffin Knights.
Ordinary Griffins are mostly used as flying mounts, and the personnel associated with them are called controllers.

Perhaps it was because Elise was next to Raine.

"So it really was because of that." Raine shook his head slightly.
