"As for... Stepping into Darkness?"
"Although there are limitations on application scenarios, once in caves or other pitch-black terrains, it remains an extrely practical magic." Raine squinted his eyes, pondering.
"Actually, whether it’s goblins, Kobolds, Wild Boar People, or even the last Giant Vampire Bat, their nests seem to be in caves."
Originally, Raine thought the ’Stepping into Darkness’ magic had quite a few restrictive scenarios, but upon careful consideration, it seed otherwise.
Because at least at his current stage, the various humanoid creatures and demons he encountered predominantly used caves as their nests.
"So, in reality, is the application of this ’Stepping into Darkness’ magic quite broad?"
Raine couldn’t help but smile slightly.
At this mont, Raine rembered that besides acquiring the Gray Dwarven Bloodline, he also obtained a considerable amount of ordinary Kobold bloodline, along with a Winged Kobold bloodline.
Although he felt that the next tier of bloodline generated after fusing the ordinary Kobold bloodline would offer little enhancent to him, after thinking it over, Raine still perford a four-in-one fusion of the ordinary Kobold bloodline.
Soon, following a successful fusion, an icon of a rather agile Kobold with wings appeared before him.
"Eh? Does an ordinary Kobold advance to a Winged Kobold?" Raine’s eyes widened slightly, appearing sowhat surprised.
Because until now, he indeed didn’t know this.
Looking at the Bloodline Talent and Spell-like Abilities, Raine couldn’t help but shake his head slightly.
"Indeed, the Kobold and goblin creatures offer too little enhancent for ."
"Even for Winged Kobolds, it’s the sa."
Sensitive Sll Level 1, the effect naturally not as good as the Sensitive Sll Level 2 provided by the Wild Boar People.
"Wait, what is this?"
Raine’s peripheral vision suddenly noticed sothing added amid the densely packed Bloodline Talent section.
"Fla Resistance?"
Fla Resistance Level 1, effect: Your resistance to fire damage improves, reducing any Fla Spell’s damage to you by ten percent.
(Note: Originates from a faint trace of Dragon Bloodline in the Winged Kobold bloodline.)
"Eh, in this light, is it true that so Kobolds have a diluted bloodline of dragons from countless generations ago?" Raine’s eyes lit up, pondering.
Though the Basic Monster Atlas contains descriptions of Kobolds worshiping dragons or powerful dragonkin creatures, the mating segnt is only briefly ntioned.
And thinking more deeply now, Raine nodded slightly.
After all, perhaps a dragon or dragonkin creature with a strong desire would at so point favor a female Kobold, thus birthing Kobold offspring with the Dragon Vein.
As for the opposite...
Raine shook his head, no longer thinking about this strange question.
"Perhaps useful in a specific scenario." Raine thought about the application scenario for Fla Resistance Level 1, pondering.
His sixteen-tile backpack is still relatively empty, so it’s naturally no problem to keep a Winged Kobold bloodline.
Even if discarded, it can be done after having a better bloodline replacent, no rush to discard.
...
The following morning.
Having traveled through the night, the carriage reached the outskirts of Mill Town.
Half an hour later, Mill Town Adventurer’s Association Hall.
"What, you encountered Gray Dwarves?"
"No wonder Robin and their entire squad disappeared."
"Damn, the Association’s intelligence is really outdated."
"Well, you can’t bla the Association. In underground mines, Kobolds with candles are easy to find, but discovering Gray Dwarves who can hide in Darkness is harder than ascending to heaven!"
The crowd changed expressions upon hearing Raine’s team encountered Gray Dwarves besides Kobolds during their task at the Azure Mine, and they started discussing intensely.
Because Gray Dwarves, as one of the well-known races in the Underdark, represent so much.
A single Gray Dwarf’s Challenge Level already reaches one, and their weapons and equipnt are unmatched by Wild Boar People. Plus, their training is sophisticated, and teamwork is skillful.
Once their numbers increase, their combat power can be terrifying.
More importantly, Gray Dwarves appearing in abandoned mines lead many to speculate if secret tunnels connecting to the Underdark have appeared underground in the mines.
Otherwise, why would Gray Dwarves appear?
Many usual familiar lower-level adventurers ca to ask questions.
But soon, Raine’s team was invited to a dedicated reception room by the female receptionist.
And Ramsey, the Mill Town Adventurer’s Association head whom Raine had previously t, appeared at the entrance imdiately after the team sat down.
His face was serious, evidently anxious.
Clearly, for Ramsey, Gray Dwarves appearing in Mill Town was absolutely not good news.
"Eh? Miss Reya." Ramsey was slightly surprised.
For he found out that the Adventurer Squad that discovered Gray Dwarves was Reya’s team again.
"Lord Ramsey, hello, we et again."
"Yes, Miss Reya, although happy to see you, you’ve brought yet another set of bad news this ti." Ramsey smiled wryly.
Raine looked at Ramsey, noticing the association’s head in the Mill Town branch looking visibly more haggard.
Possibly due to too many recent sudden events?
Or because of changes in the Wild Boar People situation in the Valley of Dead Water?
As Reya was about to introduce the situation, knocking was heard at the door.
A silhouette familiar to Raine appeared at the door.
Master Humbert.
Raine’s eyes moved.
"Master Humbert! What brought you here?" Ramsey, rising in surprise, asked.
"Lord Ramsey." Humbert nodded toward Ramsey, speaking.
"Eh, Raine, you’re here too." However, Humbert was still sowhat surprised upon seeing Raine in the reception room.
Seemingly not expecting his disciple to be involved in this task discovering Gray Dwarves.
"Yes, Master." Raine naturally rose imdiately to greet him.
"Just in ti, I heard you encountered Gray Dwarves?" Humbert solemnly asked.
"Yes, Master, right in an old abandoned branch at the Azure Mine..." Due to Humbert’s presence, Reya was replaced by Raine to provide the situation introduction.
"This is their weapon." At this mont, Raine handed the Cold Steel Warhamr obtained from the Gray Dwarves to his ntor Humbert.
"Cold Steel Warhamr! Surely it’s the weapons of those traitors, those underground worms that disgrace Moradin!" Humbert, rely glancing at the warhamr, angrily rebuked with disdain.
Raine was slightly surprised, as it was his first ti seeing his ntor Humbert show such an expression.
However, recalling the earlier introduction by Reya about the Gray Dwarves, he understood sowhat.
Since it seems in all other Dwarves’ eyes, Gray Dwarves are considered traitors and defectors, extrely hostile relationships.
