Mara looked at him.
"How big was the labyrinth?"
"Six hundred ters. Seven levels. Level five administrator at the end."
Mara considered this for a second.
"And the administrator used hacks?"
"Yes."
"And you made it here."
"Here I am."
Mara smiled.

It reached Kai’s shoulder.
Kai went two ters to the right.
He got up.
"That," Kai said, "was good."
"I learned it from you."
"On the third exchange."
"Yes." Mara watched him. "Does it bother you?"
"No." Kai shook out his shoulder. "It seems fair to ."

"And if I tell you to stop?"
Kai looked at her.
"I’m not going to stop."
"Why not?"
"Because we’re not done."
Mara smiled.
"No." She advanced. "Not yet."
