"What’s this thing?"
Freymia curiously stared at the white egg-like gem writhing in Shen Sui’s hand.
"Er... in a way." Shen Sui wiped the imaginary cold sweat off his forehead.
He had only thought about using this thing to attract as many Boundary-breaking Worms as possible, completely forgetting that it might socially kill him based on its setting.
"It’s the egg of the Broken Boundary Empress." Shen Sui stamred.
Freymia’s eyes widened instantly.
She looked at the egg in Shen Sui’s hand, then at Shen Sui’s face.
"Ah... so you’re interested in these kinds of things?"
"No, you have to let explain!"
Shen Sui felt that this was a perfectly normal thing.
For players, as long as the item’s effect is powerful enough, they wouldn’t care how strange it is.
Even if the item is stockings or underwear, they would carry it without hesitation, cursing the developers’ insanity while still using these items.
The egg of the Broken Boundary Empress is a similar setting; it’s one of the items that can invade other players’ save files.
Since the Broken Boundary Empress can break through world barriers, there’s no need to find NPCs common to both save files to directly invade soone else’s save.
Of course, this isn’t a fertilized egg; it’s more like a big... well, nearly like a regular egg.
Alright, maybe that’s even more gross.
But if you think of it as an egg, it’s suddenly more acceptable, isn’t it?
Shen Sui was looking for words to explain, and then he heard Freymia mumble, "But I can’t lay eggs."
Now it was Shen Sui’s turn to be at a loss. He glanced at Freymia and then at the egg in his hand.
Freymia also realized her words were too much; as bold as she was, she couldn’t bear the shyness in her heart and slapped Shen Sui on the shoulder, pouting, "Forget I ever said that."
Shen Sui nodded repeatedly.
Seeing Freymia’s expression, even one word more might an it wouldn’t be just a slap on the shoulder next.
The egg of the Broken Boundary Empress indeed had a peculiar effect.
Countless Boundary-breaking Worms sward in Shen Sui’s direction.
A massive crowd, forming a dark cloud.
Feeling the empress was nearby, they had no interest in eating up any domain and gathered madly around Shen Sui.
Shen Sui used a magical barrier to separate the worms from the two of them.
The worms kept coming, obscuring the sky.
They rushed forward, enclosing the two at the very bottom, while the innermost worms eagerly gnawed on Shen Sui’s barrier.
However, jaws capable of breaking world barriers were utterly useless against Shen Sui’s tiny barrier.
The rustling sound was incessant, like hell for those afraid of insects.
Shen Sui could feel the barrier’s growing weight; it seed endless worms kept coming.
That’s how Boundary-breaking Worms are; once there’s one, more follow in droves.
Freymia wasn’t afraid of insects, but this scene was beyond her imagination.
"Isn’t it enough to summon yet?" Freymia, pale, looked at Shen Sui.
Her body instinctively leaned towards Shen Sui, hands already wrapped around his arm, allowing Shen Sui to feel Freymia’s softness clearly.
Shen Sui was slightly stunned, seeing Freymia’s reproachful look, he hurriedly said, "It should be soon."
Actually, he was curious too; logically, it should be ti to summon the Broken Boundary Empress, so why hadn’t the boss fight started yet?
Just as he was puzzled, the barrier suddenly loosened.
It wasn’t the worms breaching the barrier but instead that they suddenly disappeared.
When the number of Boundary-breaking Worms reached a certain level, it seed they received a more intense signal and began to congregate.
Sssss.
Annoying friction sounds filled the air.
These were the terrifying noises from the worms rubbing against each other.
Amid these strange sounds, the swarm of pitch-black worms ford a gigantic black ball.
The ball floated above the Elf Forest, visible even to those at the Natural Holy Tree.
"What’s that?" Alice rode Lingyi, staring at the black ball in the distance.
"This thing..." Lingyi showed a terrified expression.
Alice felt Lingyi’s trembling body and hurriedly asked, "What’s wrong, Lingyi?"
"It’s the Destroyer." Lingyi’s voice carried despair, "It’s the Destroyer! The Destroyer’s ball!"
"Destroyer? What Destroyer?"
Lingyi didn’t respond; fear had shut her down, causing her to lose her flight ability, plumting with Alice below.
Alright, she had fainted from fright.
Alice, though bewildered, wasn’t faced with Lingyi’s sudden crash for the first ti, even handling it with too much proficiency.
Boom!
Lingyi heavily landed in the dense forest, crushing countless trees. Fortunately, her thick skin made the fall inconsequential to her.
With a flash of light, Lingyi transford into a white-haired girl but remained unconscious.
Alice, only at Rank Five, didn’t have flight capabilities, but falling from such a height wasn’t a problem for her.
Holding a big umbrella, she muttered "Heave-ho~! Heave-ho~!" as sparks shot from her forehead, appearing and disappearing.
Heated air rose, striking the umbrella’s surface and giving it upward buoyancy.
With this makeshift hot air balloon, Alice landed safely on the ground.
This was a landing technique she created based on past farming experiences with burning straw, not quite magic but very practical. At least during Lingyi’s unpredictable "crashes," Alice could parachute to safety.
"Are you alright, Alice?" Aina and Anna rushed over.
Attracted by Shen Sui, there weren’t any Boundary-breaking Worms by the Natural Holy Tree.
"Hurry to the Spring of Eternal Life," Alice told Aina and Anna, "The Boundary-breaking Worms are heading there. Claude and Freymia are in danger."
From Alice’s perspective, Claude was gravely injured and unconscious, and Freymia was in a sealed state, definitely in danger.
"Freymia... sister?" Aina puzzled over Alice’s way of addressing her mother.
"All older female relatives should be called sisters if you want to please them," Alice wisely stated, "Otherwise, they’ll be unhappy."
Aina felt sothing was off. If Alice called her mother sister, what did that make her relationship with Alice?
As Alice planned the rescue, Shen Sui was having a social death mont with the Broken Boundary Empress.
Damn it, I knew this would happen!
The Broken Boundary Empress, Antipus, looked at the egg belonging to her in Shen Sui’s hand with a flushed face.
