With that, she suggested carrying Alice on her back to continue their journey.
Despite having shrunk her body, the giant’s back was still incredibly wide.
Alice lay comfortably on Keli’s back, finding it quite cozy.
"Hehe! Hold on tight! I’m about to start running!" Keli warned Alice.
Instinctively, Alice tightened her grip on Keli’s clothes, but the speed at which this giant girl ran was beyond Alice’s imagination.
She felt the strong wind howling past her ears as Keli’s body emitted a powerful force, leaping directly from one mountain to another in a single bound.
A few minutes passed before Keli’s voice ca again: "That’s the mountain that Uncle Leibit ssed up ahead."
Keli pointed to the mountains in the distance.
Alice followed the direction Keli pointed, seeing several peaks that looked as if they had been chopped off by so brute force.
"How’s that? Impressive, right? Back in the day, Uncle Leibit smashed the walls of Roland City with his palm, and they were reinforced by the Divine Power of the Master of Thunder!" Keli said proudly.
After running for a while longer, Keli stopped and pointed to the valley ahead, saying, "There’s the entrance to the tribe. Stick close to , or you’ll get attacked."
"Huh?" Alice could hardly believe that outsiders might get attacked, "Is the xenophobia that severe?"
Before Keli could respond, a booming voice ca from a mountainside nearby: "How dare you co back! Didn’t Lord Loli exile you for three years? It’s not even half a year, and you dare return."
"I go where I want, when I want!" With hands on her hips, Keli responded fearlessly, "Unlike you, a little twerp, who doesn’t even have the courage to look in the eye. Humph! No wonder you just cried when I set your pants on fire!"
"You! You!"
"Keli! You’ve got a cri hanging over you now!" Another voice chid in, "Aren’t you afraid of angering Lord Loli?"
"Doma! You’re even lar than the little twerp. You just want revenge because you can’t beat in a fight!" Keli retorted confidently, "Auntie Loli spoils the most! Besides, who said I was going in! Can’t I just bring a friend over?!"
"Don’t let her in!" shouted the giant referred to as the little twerp, "This female demon and her friend are definitely bad news! She wasn’t afraid to barbecue in the Holy Hall on her own, and with her friend, she’ll probably burn it down!"
"So what if the Holy Hall burns down!" Keli justified boldly, "It’s useless anyway. It’s been said to welco the Dawn Sacred Artifact for almost ten thousand years, but not a single artifact has been seen! It’s useless and wasting space, so why not use it for a barbecue stand!"
Alice watched, dumbfounded, as Keli and the two gatekeeping giants bickered.
So, when you talked about getting along, did you an this kind of interaction?
And weren’t you the one saying the Giant Race is very xenophobic?
Why do I feel like they seem to have more of an issue with you...?
Alice had her forehead lined with confusion.
Perhaps because of her battle-hardened nature, Keli gradually gained the upper hand in this one-on-two verbal skirmish.
The heated exchange finally drew the attention of the giants from the tribe.
"What’s going on?" A tall man appeared at the entrance.
"Uncle Leibit!" Keli’s eyes lit up as she greeted him, "I missed you, so I ca back to see you."
As soon as Leibit saw Keli, his face darkened, and with gritted teeth, he said:
"Keli!!! Is it you who poured out my wine and replaced it with snow water?!"
"Uh, well..." Keli blinked and said, "Auntie Loli said you’re only unclear-headed because you drink too much. I thought if I swapped your wine for snow water, it might resolve your issues with Auntie Loli..."
"Damn it! That was fine wine rewarded to by the Main God!" Leibit stomped in frustration.
