The key is, against Shen Sui's move, it seems that aside from countering the first activation effect of [Land Reclamation], once this chain starts, you have no way to stop Shen Sui's encroachnt.
That's because from the second activation onwards, the Land Reclamation belongs to the effect initiated by Arianna, which cannot be linked by card effects, aning you have no way to activate a card effect to intercept it.

Even though under tournant rules, many professional duels could also conclude quickly, the restriction of Soul Points at least prevents the first-turn advantage from becoming overwhelmingly significant, allowing both sides to reasonably contest a few rounds.
