"I certainly understand that choosing this place is not wise. Although this location may represent prosperity and the city center in the future, we need such a piece of land to support our position. Of course, our real money-making plan is not here, but here!" Wei Xueqing handed another docunt to Yang Chen.
Yang Chen opened it to take a look.
"The location on the East Fourth Ring, outside the Third Ring, is all under developnt. Moreover, given the current situation, the Third Ring can no longer satisfy the city’s growth, so expansion outward is inevitable. This area is wasteland, belonging to governnt-owned land, so acquiring it is easy and construction can begin imdiately. Of course, the bidding process still needs to be followed, but we have inside connections, which will make it much easier. Securing these two plots is imperative for us!" Wei Xueqing explained.
Yang Chen nodded, "Not bad, I support your plan."
Yang Chen very much believes in Wei Xueqing’s business acun.
"The proposal departnt is working on the bidding docunts, you might want to oversee things a bit." Wei Xueqing said.
"Sure." Yang Chen stood up, ready to leave.
"Wait a minute!" Wei Xueqing called out to Yang Chen.
"What’s up?" Yang Chen turned to Wei Xueqing in confusion.
Wei Xueqing wore a face of hesitation, wanting to speak but stopping short.
Yang Chen couldn’t help but chuckle, "Is there sothing you can’t say?"
Wei Xueqing sighed, "I’m just afraid you’ll get upset, might not be able to handle it."
Yang Chen raised an eyebrow, staring at Wei Xueqing, "What can’t I handle?"
"It’s about your sister." Wei Xueqing said.
"What’s wrong with her?" Yang Chen began to worry, asking nervously.
"You see," Wei Xueqing sighed, "I knew you would react like this."
"Of course I’m worried about her!" Yang Chen frowned, "She’s my only sister. I’ve watched her grow up and absolutely won’t allow any danger to co to her!"
"There’s no danger." Wei Xueqing replied.
Yang Chen breathed a sigh of relief.
He also felt there shouldn’t be any danger. If there were, Jianfeng and the others would certainly inform him imdiately.
"Then what is it?" Yang Chen asked.
Wei Xueqing hesitated for a mont, bringing a pen close to her mouth.
Yang Chen furrowed his brow, stepping forward to grasp Wei Xueqing’s hand, "You’ve capped your pen."
Feeling the warmth from Yang Chen’s large hand, Wei Xueqing instinctively withdrew her hand, her cheeks slightly reddened. Seeing she had indeed uncapped the pen, if she had just placed it in her mouth, she would have got a mouthful of ink.
Wei Xueqing lowered her head and said, "You should ask Jianfeng. Zhao Feiyang just told that Jianfeng has taken your sister to Ancheng. The plane’s tomorrow."
"What?" Yang Chen’s eyes widened, "You an Jianfeng and Yanyan..."
Wei Xueqing shrugged, "I’m not quite sure about the specifics."
Imdiately, Yang Chen dashed out the door.
The dramatically shaking glass door left Wei Xueqing sowhat startled, fearing the glass might shatter under the strain.
After Yang Chen rushed out of the room, he cald down instead.
What am I going to do? Grab Jianfeng and give him a beating?
If the two of them are really in a relationship, then that’s their personal choice; I have no right to interfere.
Out of protection for his sister, the first reaction upon hearing soone might be interested in her is for Yang Chen to burst into anger, thinking no one is worthy of his sister.
But then again, children grow up to leave ho, girls grow up to find a husband. He can’t take care of Chen Siyan for a lifeti; after all, won eventually marry.
Thinking of these things, Yang Chen cald down instead.
Rather than letting Chen Siyan find soone unknown, it’s better that she finds soone familiar. It’s at least reassuring and sowhat reliable.
Still, Yang Chen needs to confirm a few things.
At the ti, Jianfeng and Night Fire were both in the information departnt, each occupied with a specialized computer.
Yang Chen walked into their private office, sat on the sofa, and locked his gaze on Jianfeng.
Jianfeng noticed Yang Chen, smiled at him, greeted him, and then continued working.
However, Yang Chen’s gaze remained fixed on Jianfeng.
Night Fire also cast a puzzled glance at Yang Chen, sensing a sowhat strange atmosphere, so he dared not speak, keeping his head down and continuing to work.
After quite a while, Jianfeng and Night Fire could no longer resist the room’s atmosphere and the creepy gaze from Yang Chen, raising their heads to look at Yang Chen with a wry smile.
"Boss..." Jianfeng called out, feeling guilty.
Yang Chen waved his hand, "You may leave first."
Night Fire, hearing this, exchanged a puzzled glance with Jianfeng, said nothing, and zipped out.
The room now had only Yang Chen and Jianfeng.
"Jianfeng." Yang Chen tapped on the desk and asked, "Who gave you this na back then?"
"I picked it myself. I used to like swords." Jianfeng replied with a smile.
"Oh!" Yang Chen elongated the tone, asking, "So, how many years have you been with ?"
Jianfeng felt unsettled inside, not knowing why Yang Chen was asking these things, but he still answered with a smile, "Did you forget, Boss? Since the beginning, when we joined Dragon Tooth, I’ve been with you. During Dragon Tooth training, we also carried logs together; I couldn’t hold up that ti and fell, and it was you who held up."
Yang Chen nodded slowly, rembering all these details, urgently.
Then, an eerie silence fell once more.
Feeling increasingly uneasy, Jianfeng couldn’t stop fidgeting, twisting back and forth in the seat, causing the leather seat to creak.
After quite a while, Yang Chen seed to recall sothing, looking up to ask, "Once we went to Gavi to capture so people, that day you seed to have battled three foreign girls alone, how was it? Did you hold up?"
"What do you an ’did I hold up or not!’?" Among n, discussions around this topic often stirred excitent, and Jianfeng imdiately beca enthusiastic.
Yang Chen showed a peculiar look, "Did you get checked afterward?"
"Yes, didn’t we have periodic physical exams weekly, monthly, and yearly?" Jianfeng responded.
"Didn’t catch anything untoward?"
"No!" Jianfeng replied, "Boss! You think I’d go for those ’ridden by a thousand n, pillow for a million’ types? We earn our money the hard way, might as well enjoy sothing a bit more upscale, a bit better. Always look for fresh ones, absolutely clean!"
Yang Chen’s smile at the corner of his mouth grew increasingly peculiar, "Seems you have quite a wealth of experience!"
"Just average. Our job doesn’t allow much; once a year is good enough. Occasionally letting off steam is good for physical and ntal health." Jianfeng chuckled.
"Bang!" Yang Chen suddenly smashed the glass tabletop on the coffee table, angrily shouting, "Jianfeng! As a mber of Dragon Tooth, you’re pulling off such low-level deeds, taking pride instead of sha!"
Jianfeng instantly beca petrified, his legs going soft, unsure why Yang Chen was suddenly furious.
