On Penglai Island.
By the second day, Ye Xin had almost recovered.
Like Yang Chen, the cultivation technique Ye Xin practiced was top-notch, derived from the Saintess Heart thod of the Shangqing Sect.
Compared to simple physical recovery, using a cultivation technique to nurture the body was much faster.
That day, Ye Xin got out of bed, wanting to find the mbers of the Dragon Tooth Squad with Yang Chen.
Yang Chen disagreed, thinking it was better for Ye Xin to continue resting.
After all, they still couldn’t enter the deep well, and being anxious was futile.
After comforting Ye Xin to continue recuperating, Yang Chen went to find Professor Song to inquire about the research progress.
In the laboratory.
The test results were already out.
Professor Song handed a report to Yang Chen, saying, "The results are out. That deep well is not an oceanic Blue Cave, as the water lacks the elents found in Blue Caves and there’s no blue light. The water content is quite normal, similar to the nearby sea water... The only major difference is... the oxygen content inside is very high, three tis that of other seawater, and at a depth of ten ters, it’s already five tis... This level of oxygen concentration is extrely alarming."
Yang Chen looked at the data, frowning, and asked, "What does this indicate?"
After all, Yang Chen wasn’t familiar with scientific research and didn’t know what these numbers ant.
"This..." Professor Song said with a conflicted expression, "Science requires rigorous experints, and using data to speculate... is not accurate... so..."
"I just want to know what these numbers could possibly indicate!" Yang Chen said in a serious tone.
Professor Song looked troubled, hesitating several tis before slowly saying, "You should know that the size of plants and animals on Earth is related to oxygen levels. If there’s ample oxygen, animals can grow very large! During the dinosaur era, it was like this. If the seawater has such a large amount of oxygen... it’s not surprising if this happens."
"Are you saying... that below, there might be gigantic fish?" Yang Chen squinted his eyes and stared at Professor Song, "What are the chances?"
Professor Song shook his head, "Very low! Such a situation can’t be confird without data testing and research. At most, there’s only a thirty percent chance. But you know... the existence or non-existence of sothing in philosophy is a fifty percent probability. Considering the strange suction force and the imnse pressure it creates in the deep well, things down there... could indeed grow huge! This possibility exceeds fifty percent! Of course, it’s only a higher possibility of sothing being down there, not necessarily giant fish... After all, the space is small..."
After hearing Professor Song’s speculation, Yang Chen’s face turned somber.
"Continue the research, strive to uncover the secret of the deep well soon!" Yang Chen threw out these words and swiftly left, still hearing Professor Song’s excited shout from behind: "Yes! Absolutely!"
Walking out of the laboratory, Yang Chen’s face grew even more grim.
If it’s like Professor Song said, and there are possibly gigantic fish below the deep well, then it’s possible that anything falling into it would end up in the belly of a fish!
If that’s really the case...
Yang Chen couldn’t imagine it.
At the cliff’s edge.
Yang Chen looked at the deep well below, silent for a long ti.
After a long while, Yang Chen sighed heavily and turned to leave.
Inside the base.
Yang Chen found Jian Feng.
"I have a task for you!" Yang Chen said in a serious tone.
"Yes!" Jian Feng imdiately saluted, responding without hesitation.
However, after agreeing, Jian Feng hesitated and said, "Boss... about finding Left Hand and the others..."
"Soone else will take care of that. I need you to go back and inform Wei Xueqing, Chen Siyan, and my parents that I’m safe, to put them at ease. After informing them, go to Jin Chen, check on Night Fire’s situation, and report back to !" Yang Chen instructed.
"Yes!" Jian Feng responded imdiately.
He would unconditionally obey any order from Yang Chen.
"Go now!" Yang Chen added.
"Yes!"
...
Watching Jian Feng leave, Yang Chen slightly frowned.
Just as he was about to leave, Purple Cultivator approached.
"Boss!" Purple Cultivator called out.
Yang Chen glanced at him and nodded slightly.
Purple Cultivator followed behind Yang Chen, saying in a serious tone, "Elder Kun Yao wants to see you on behalf of the Yun family’s Elder Zu."
Yang Chen paused for a mont, thought, then nodded slightly and continued walking toward the Yun family’s estate.
However, upon entering the Yun family estate, he didn’t head straight to the main hall but went to Ye Xin’s ward instead.
Letting Purple Cultivator wait outside, Yang Chen entered the ward.
Ye Xin was reading a book, and upon seeing Yang Chen enter, she couldn’t help but smile.
"What? Missed already?" Ye Xin said with a laugh.
Yang Chen smiled slightly, "Yes, every second apart feels like three autumns!"
"Really?" Ye Xin looked suspicious and gestured for Yang Chen to co over.
Yang Chen walked over.
Ye Xin pulled Yang Chen closer, ruffling his hair with a puzzled look, muttering, "Strange!"
Yang Chen looked puzzled, "What’s strange?"
Ye Xin, with a serious expression, thought and said, "If every second apart feels like three autumns, you’ve been out for several hours. Not to say a thousand years, but it should be a few hundred at least! Your hair is still all black, could it be that you’re an old monster?"
Yang Chen blinked, "Hey! Who are you calling an old monster?"
Ye Xin widened her beautiful eyes, "Didn’t you say every second feels like three years? Over a few thousand years then! Obviously you’re lying to !"
"I..."
Yang Chen was montarily speechless.
Seeing Ye Xin’s smug expression, Yang Chen decided to take action.
"Watch my Dragon Claw!" Yang Chen called out loudly. "Ah!" Ye Xin exclaid, struggling hard.
"Don’t tickle ! Hahaha! Don’t... haha! Stop tickling !"
Ye Xin laughed heartily.
Yang Chen showed no rcy, both hands working at once, making Ye Xin unbearably ticklish.
"Hahahaha!"
Ye Xin was almost in tears from laughing.
"I surrender! I surrender!" Ye Xin shouted.
"Surrender to what?" Yang Chen wore a victorious smile, but his hands didn’t stop.
"I shouldn’t have! I shouldn’t have called you an old monster!" Ye Xin quickly shouted, her hair a ss, and her hospital gown lifted quite a bit.
"Then who is the old monster?" Yang Chen persisted.
"It’s..." Ye Xin shouted, suddenly lunging at Yang Chen, "It’s you!"
In an instant, Ye Xin pounced on Yang Chen, like a koala, clinging to him, reaching to tickle his neck.
