In a certain residential compound.
Gu Xijun sips yogurt, pushing open the door to her ho.

Gu Xijun sits down and picks up her chopsticks.
Master Ye glances at Gu Xijun and asks flatly, "You have a lot of cases recently, don’t you?"
Gu Xijun nods, "Quite a few. Sumr vacation is almost over, so it’s normal."
"Have you thought about moving to logistics work?" Master Ye inquires.

After dinner, Gu Xijun heads to Master Ye’s study.
She rembers the two people Yang Chen asked her to investigate today, finding their nas quite familiar, she asks, "Dad, do you know soone nad Yang Yanyu or Guo Wenjie?"
Upon hearing these nas, Master Ye furrows his brow, looking up, "Why are you asking about them?"
"Nothing, just heard it from a friend today; felt curious, so I asked," Gu Xijun feigns nonchalance.
But Master Ye seems very tense, standing up, he stares at Gu Xijun, asking sternly, "Who ntioned them to you? Where did you hear those two nas? What’s your connection?"
Noting his reaction, Gu Xijun furrows her brow, feeling suspicious.
Could it be that her old man really knows these two people?
"Just a friend. Just tell whether you know them or not!" Gu Xijun feigned impatience.
Master Ye’s brows knit tightly, he warns gravely, "I’m warning you, Gu Xijun, don’t try to dodge this; this is classified information! How did you know about it?"
Gu Xijun shrugs, "What’s so classified about it? I feel these nas are quite familiar. I’m pretty sure you ntioned them to before."
Master Ye responds seriously, "Yes, I did. But if you don’t want to tell who inford you, then let’s end it here; don’t inquire any further about these two people!"
Gu Xijun frowns, "Is it that serious, Dad?"
Master Ye snorts coldly, staring at Gu Xijun sternly, "Didn’t you say it feels familiar? Have a look yourself!"
Following Master Ye’s indication, Gu Xijun turns toward the bookshelf.
On the shelf sits a photo fra.
She rembers this picture; it was taken when Elder Ye was at a military academy.
Picking up the fra, she sees a group of people in military green uniforms, all wearing shy smiles.
Gu Xijun blinks, looking up at Master Ye; "Dad, don’t tell Yang Yanyu and Guo Wenjie are in this photo!"
Master Ye steps up and takes the fra from her hand; "Rember when I told you I had a very remarkable classmate?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Xijun suddenly realizes, exclaims, "I rember now! You always said you had a classmate who was like a strategist and very capable, right!"
"Exactly! It’s him! Yang Yanyu!" Master Ye’s eyes sparkled as he nodded, speaking seriously.
"Which one? Which one is he?" Gu Xijun quickly asks.
Master Ye points at a handso young man in the photo, "That’s him, Yang Yanyu!"
Examining closely, Gu Xijun notices that despite the distance making the picture a bit blurry, the man in the photo faintly resembles Yang Chen.
"And Guo Wenjie?" Gu Xijun asks, "What’s their relationship?"
Master Ye looks deeply at Gu Xijun and says, "They’re married! I heard Yang Yanyu’s spouse is nad Chen Guo Wenjie."
"Married!" Gu Xijun’s beautiful eyes shine even brighter.
"Where are they now?" Gu Xijun inquires.
"This is exactly what I wanted to tell you!" Master Ye responds gravely to Gu Xijun’s question, "Eighteen years ago, their whole family disappeared completely, as if vanished from the world! I secretly investigated it at the ti, but found no traces, and then I was warned. Everything related to them was confiscated, except this photo—the only thing left."
"Disappeared?" Gu Xijun stands puzzled.
Seizing a mont when Master Ye is not paying attention, Gu Xijun secretly snaps a picture with her phone and then remarks, "It’s really odd, but after all these years, who knows where they went."
Master Ye solemnly warns Gu Xijun, "The person who warned had a complex background, so don’t probe into this matter. I know you’re stubborn, but this is serious—don’t ss around, understand?"
