Chapter 883: Chapter 868: Complacent
The pri minister thought that once he obtained the chip, he could have a massive War God Army, and Japan could soon dominate the world. However, he hadn’t had ti to revel in his success before learning that the entire experintal base was completely destroyed, triggering a huge tsunami. This was enough to nearly make the Japanese pri minister faint from rage.
“Lord, this…this matter is truly suspicious. Lord Fujimoto has already sent experts to hunt them down. As long as that Chinese hasn’t left Japan, he won’t escape!”
“Hmph, investigate thoroughly. I want that Chinese dead. He must die. You are all a bunch of fools, absolute fools! So many people, so many chanisms, yet the base was still destroyed by soone. You…”
At this mont, the pri minister felt as if he wanted to vomit blood, truly too much to bear. This matter was unbearably distressing, and he could never have imagined it would reach such an absurd stage even in his dreams.
anwhile, Su Xuan was already on a cruise ship, leaving the waters of Japan, thanks to Gu Xiyin.
Gu Xiyin had quickly developed a ntal connection with his sister after being brought ashore. Sensing the danger below, Gu Xiyin began planning the retreat. He knew everyone was deep in a wolf’s lair, and at any mont, they could find themselves surrounded. So, he hired a cruise ship in advance, positioning it at the edge of the sea. When Su Xuan and the others left the coastal area, they encountered Gu Xiyin just in ti, boarded the cruise, and Su Xuan fainted imdiately upon boarding.
Abe Kei watched her sister, tears streaming, genuinely wishing her sister had avoided the crisis by not getting involved in this matter. But fate couldn’t be sidestepped, and circumstances couldn’t be controlled.
She glanced sentintally at Su Xuan’s face and said.
“I’m leaving first. Take care, everyone!”
As Abe Kei prepared to leave, Gu Xiyin said in surprise.
“You’re leaving? But you’re so seriously injured, how can you go?”
Gu Xiyin found Abe Kei intriguing. At first, he didn’t understand who Gu Xiyin was exactly but saw a resemblance to Akihi, hinting at the situation.
“I must return. I’m a ninja. If I don’t leave, they’ll quickly find us. Su Xuan’s combat strength is virtually zero now, and if there’s any mishap, there’s no chance of victory!”
Abe Kei glanced at Ye Kai and quickly boarded a small speedboat from the cruise. As the speedboat sped off, she felt reluctant yet determined, knowing her nature as a ninja. Since childhood, a mark of connection has been imprinted on their bodies. If discovered with Su Xuan, it would implicate them.
After she left, Gu Xiyin looked at his sister, then at Su Xuan, feeling deeply disturbed. The mission had co with a high price: the Qilin Arm had sacrificed, Su Xuan suffered severe injuries, and several others sustained various degrees of injuries, all beyond his expectations.
In a haze, Su Xuan woke up, a strong feeling of dizziness nearly made him faint again.
“Su Xuan, you’re awake. How are you feeling? Any better?”
Worried about Su Xuan’s condition, Gu Xiyin had just given him a Detoxification Pill. The poison had been suppressed but not fully eradicated.
“I’m fine!”
Su Xuan replied softly, looking at Akihi, lying beside him yet cold all over, feeling deeply sorrowful. Honestly, what happened with Akihi was like a thorn piercing his heart. He found it hard to accept. Su Xuan used to believe that as long as he was there, no one could hurt those close to him. But this ti he witnessed Akihi dying right before him, and she was carrying his child.
“Su Xuan, people can’t co back from the dead. My condolences!”
Gu Xiyin said quietly, also shocked by Akihi’s selfless sacrifice to shield her father’s attack, grateful for her actions for Su Xuan’s sake. He realized that without Akihi’s sacrifice, Su Xuan wouldn’t have survived.
Su Xuan looked at Akihi, sighed deeply, gently stroked the now cold cheek, and said softly.
“Akihi, I will take you back to Huaxia!”
Tears stread down Su Xuan’s face as he looked at Akihi lying silently on the deck. Sotis, Su Xuan genuinely felt he shouldn’t have appeared before Akihi, perhaps altering her fate completely.
Upon returning to Huaxia, Su Xuan didn’t go to the police station as he didn’t want to due to his dislike for the scene. He had agreed to help earlier because he wanted to prevent more tragedies. Now that the task was completed, he didn’t want to get too involved further.
After cremating Akihi’s body, Su Xuan began to deal with his own affairs. His injuries were severe; he had overdrawn his Primordial Qi earlier, causing the poison to enter his ridians. Even with the Detoxification Pill, it couldn’t eliminate the toxin entirely. It wasn’t until eight days later that he managed to clear the remaining poison from his system.
During those eight days, Su Xuan saw no one, including Feng Shanshan, who didn’t know he had returned from Japan. His phone was flooded with unanswered calls, none of which Su Xuan bothered to answer.
After recuperating, Su Xuan suddenly thought of Qilin Arm, deciding to visit his family. In this battle, Qilin Arm had suffered the most. If not for him, everyone would have perished in the ocean. Qilin Arm truly left his life in that region, possibly without even leaving a trace of bones. He was the real hero of this mission, for without him, it couldn’t be completed.
Now, Su Xuan was determined to visit Qilin Arm’s family. From his chats with Gu Xiyin, he learned Qilin Arm ca from a particularly poor background, with his family facing harsh living conditions.
