Caleb avoided her topic, whether or not it was Jared Quinn’s people secretly protecting lody Thorne, he wasn’t certain, but even if he was, he wouldn’t tell her.
That man wasn’t suitable for her; staying with him would make lody Thorne die even faster.
"Now?" lody Thorne looked at him. "Are you sure? Won’t you, later, like a temporarily insane person, tell everyone about this? Shouldn’t you think it over? Maybe everyone will think of you as a lunatic again?"
Caleb’s eye twitched; if it weren’t lody Thorne standing in front of him, he would have strangled her. "Just do as I say."
"I think you should reconsider," lody Thorne frowned, although she also wanted him to reclaim his identity, she felt there was sothing she needed to remind him of, but she couldn’t recall it at the mont,
"Or maybe you should et that witness first?"
"You lay low for now," Caleb said, "if I et her now, she might disappear by tomorrow."
lody Thorne was speechless.
"Anyway, you won’t need it for a while," lody Thorne nodded. The Adler Family was calm with nothing major happening, let alone needing a witness.
"But I can’t guarantee she’ll testify for you," lody Thorne said. She knew of that person’s existence because of mories from a past life, but in this life, she had never t that woman.
"Hmm," Caleb turned his head, his gaze unusually serious. "I have sothing you need."
"What is it?"
"You’ll see later," Caleb handed her sothing. The reason he chose to reclaim his identity at this ti was largely because of her.
"Okay," lody Thorne accepted it.
Caleb got up and headed towards the banquet area. "Rember, reclaiming my identity will do you a big favor, so you’ll have to repay well in the future."
lody Thorne was astonished.
She was curious to see what big favor he would do for her.
Upstairs, after lody Thorne returned to her bedroom, Jared Quinn wasn’t there; he must be in the study. She opened what Caleb had given her,
and with just one glance, she felt a heart-pounding sense of shock.
That guy actually gave her a divorce agreent.
lody Thorne put the docunt away and walked to the window, curious to see what thod he would use to reclaim his identity. Yet, she waited two full hours without any sign of movent.
Just as she was about to fall asleep at the window, everyone started heading outside; the banquet was over, and Caleb finally made a move. She saw Caleb approaching Ivy.
Then she saw Ivy’s face change drastically; she reached out and pushed Caleb, and Caleb staggered back a few steps and fell backward.
With a loud "Bang," she saw Caleb knocked to the ground, rolling several ters away.
lody Thorne almost scread; she hadn’t expected him to use such extre asures. Previously, the Adler Family had issued a certificate stating Caleb’s ntal condition; perhaps this was the only way.
To survive beyond the brink of death.
She opened her bedroom door, eager to run downstairs, when suddenly it felt like she hit a rock on her forehead; it hurt.
"What’s the rush?" Jared Quinn pulled her out of his embrace and looked down at her.
"There was a car accident outside, I want to check on it," lody Thorne said urgently. She seed to have really forgotten sothing she should have reminded Caleb of.
"Let’s go," Jared Quinn replied casually, taking her hand in his palm, leading her downstairs.
