lody Thorne stared directly at the man in front of her. Who would he choose?
Would he side with Ivy?
"Jared!" Ivy sobbed on the floor. "lody, we were best friends. Why would you do this to ?"
"Take her back!" Jared Quinn commanded in a low voice.
"Yes, sir," the butler replied, using force to pull Ivy up from the ground and dragging her out.
She’s such a troublemaker, ant to be a scapegoat, but ended up causing a huge argunt between the young master and the young madam.
Without saying whether he would help or not, lody Thorne shook off the man’s large hand from her arm. He just let Ivy go, but who’s to say he won’t act tomorrow. She got off the sofa and walked outside.
She needed to pick up Timmy. Only when she saw Timmy would she be happy.
"Young madam," the butler tried to stop her, but lody Thorne’s glare made him back off.
Jared Quinn watched her stubborn figure walking out, feeling a twinge in his heart. He had dismissed Ivy because lody said not to help. So why was she still upset?
"Young master, when a woman is angry, she needs to be coaxed," the butler couldn’t help but comnt.
Jared Quinn: "..."
"Young master, when n and won argue, never point out who’s right or wrong because won will never consider that. What they care about is whether the man minds them in his heart," the butler spoke again.
"Do you understand?" Jared Quinn sneered.
The butler: "..."
He didn’t understand; this advice ca from Dr. Mo.
The butler glanced at his young master’s expression and pointed at the shoes on the floor, "Young master, she went out barefoot."
Jared Quinn: "..."
The man kicked the nearby coffee table in frustration. Damn it, when did he get so influenced by a woman?
lody Thorne drove out, but because Jared Quinn hadn’t expressed whom he was siding with and acted lukewarmly, she got angry and left imdiately, only to realize halfway that she was even barefoot.
It was so late; would Timmy be asleep?
lody Thorne pulled out her phone and called the old house.
"Mommy~" A soft, cute voice sounded on the other end.
lody Thorne’s originally distressed mood instantly dissipated, and she laughed. "How did you know it was ?"
The little bun arrogantly glanced at the ancient clock hanging on the wall. "It’s so late; it must be you."
lody Thorne looked at the ti, indeed it was almost ten o’clock. "Why aren’t you asleep yet? Did you miss these past few days?"
There was a pause for a couple of seconds, followed by a gentle breathing sound very close to the phone.
"Timmy?"
"I did," Timmy’s small voice ca through, afraid of being overheard. He usually had Jared Quinn’s cold deanor, and would get shy when saying sothing so mushy.
"I miss Timmy very much, too," lody Thorne said cheerfully, turning the steering wheel and switching on the headlights. "I’ll pick you up soon, I’m almost there."
"Really?" Timmy’s delighted voice asked, then changed tone. "Did Dad bully you again?"
"No."
"Then rember to stay away from my dad. Unlike , he isn’t both handso and good-tempered; he has quite a bad temper," the little bun babbled.
lody Thorne chuckled softly. "Alright, I’ll be there soon. I’m hanging up now."
"Okay."
The little bun on the other side cheered; finally, he wouldn’t have to accompany his great-grandfather anymore.
lody Thorne stared at the phone she just hung up with a trace of distraction, feeling Timmy’s warmth even after the call.
Rain began to pour outside the car window, making the road ahead increasingly blurred,
