The air suddenly froze.
Love her? Jared Quinn had never pondered such a question, nor did he ever think he could fall in love with any woman.
The word ’love’ essentially didn’t exist in his cold-blooded life.
"What’s wrong? Can’t answer?" lody Thorne smiled like an enchanting spirit, mimicking his action and bit at the corner of his lips. "Why possess if you don’t love ? Don’t you think that’s selfish?"
Jared stared at her. It was because he wanted to possess her, so he did. He didn’t really understand what love was, but he knew the emotion he felt when he saw lody floating with open eyes under the sea, it was fury far beyond anything he’d ever experienced, even more so than when soone tried to kill him.
Even that feeling of having his heart ripped out.
If that was considered love, then so be it.
"Love." He lowered his head to continue kissing her, unbuttoning her clothes as he moved slowly downward.
lody’s eyes welled with tears. Jared’s response was not dismissive; he simply said that singular word, "love." In her past life, she waited endlessly, even up to her death.
But in this life, he gave it to her so easily.
"Is this what they call being pathetic?" lody murmured.
Otherwise, how could she explain his behavior now?
Jared "..."
"Do you really have to say that now?" He looked up to see that lody’s expression held no joy or excitent, nor did she scream with happiness like other won might.
She remained calm.
"I want you to say three words," lody challenged.
How could Jared possibly love her? Was her allure truly that great in this lifeti?
Jared’s large hands tore off her hospital gown, revealing skin as smooth as fine jade, enticing and transparent, easily sparking wicked thoughts.
"Which three?" His gaze ravaged her body, as if contemplating how to begin with his newly acquired prey.
"I love you," lody replied smoothly.
In an instant, Jared’s eyes churned with turbulent waves, surging ceaselessly, world-shaking, yet gradually calming.
The abyss in his heart was slowly being filled.
Yes, that feeling was good.
The three words from lody’s mouth, in her soft voice, were music to his ears—not just pleasing, but sothing he wanted to hear endlessly.
"I approve," Jared gripped her chin. "I grant you permission to love forever."
lody "!!!"
"Are you deaf?" lody picked up a nearby pillow and hurled it at Jared. She wanted him to say it.
Only after he said it would she abandon him, just as he had abandoned her in her past life.
Jared pressed down the pillow she threw, his dense kisses falling upon her.
lody didn’t move. After all, it wasn’t their first ti doing this. She lay there stiffly, without reaction, passion, or moans.
Jared kissed every inch of her body, buttoning each button back up. She was still weak, so he didn’t intend to do anything more with her in the hospital.
He just craved her scent.
The IV in lody’s arm was nearly finished, and Jared took her hand, his fingers brushing against the needle on the back of her hand. "Not afraid of pain, are you?"
lody glanced askance at him, speaking confidently, "Afraid."
PS: Oh dear, I think this turned out sweet, covering face...
