In the hospital room, lody Thorne’s hand suddenly clenched the bedsheet beneath her. Ever since Jared Quinn had forcefully taken her on the sofa, she had cleverly prepared a bottle of birth control pills. Last night, the first thing she thought of after they finished was the birth control pills, so while Jared Quinn was in the bathroom, she took them out and swallowed them.
Because she was particularly nervous and afraid that Jared Quinn would discover her, she had swallowed them directly after pouring them out. In her panic, she didn’t even know how many she had swallowed because all she cared about was the effect.
"Took birth control pills?" Jared Quinn’s cigarette was snapped into two sections between his fingers. He hadn’t used protection either ti and hadn’t even considered it. Was she worried about having his child?
That feeling of having his self-respect trampled once again ignited the anger that had just subsided in Jared Quinn.
"Yes, and she took more than just one or two," Dr. Mo said. "However, at this ti, she definitely cannot get pregnant. You know Timmy’s condition; he needs your little wife’s blood, so at this ti, you might need to take protective asures."
"Do you think I need to worry about this issue when she’s taken so many birth control pills?" The man’s deep and handso features beca even sharper and more coldly defined, like they were carved from stone.
Afraid of bearing his child, treating him as a bargaining chip, her abilities were growing. Did she think she could fly just because she sprouted wings and changed her character? He’d have to see if his trap would let her go.
Jared Quinn returned to the hospital room, gazed at lody Thorne for a few seconds, then turned and left.
The sound of footsteps gradually faded away, and lody Thorne breathed a sigh of relief, opening her eyes, finally having dodged a bullet.
"Bzzz" Her phone buzzed; it was Caleb.
"What’s up?"
A low chuckle ca from the other end, "Nothing major, just wanted to thank you for helping solve the big problem of the Adler Family father and daughter."
Originally, he had been looking for dirt on that father-daughter pair to eliminate them thoroughly. lody Thorne had unexpectedly used Jared Quinn and Ivy to resolve it.
"No need to thank . If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up." She had intended to deal with the Adler Family anyway, to make sure Ivy would stay away from Jared Quinn and Timmy for good, which indirectly helped Caleb.
Caleb gripped the steering wheel, rolling down the car window, his gaze on the hospital’s second-floor ward. "Do you need to co up and keep you company for a while?"
"Do you think I lack n around ?" lody Thorne sneered. "Even if I wanted to find a man to keep company, I definitely wouldn’t look for a younger brother type."
Caleb "..."
His grip tightened on the wheel, a touch of coldness on his porcelain-white face. "Haven’t you heard that a woman three years older can last a lifeti?"
lody Thorne choked on the water she had just drunk. While she might have many suitors, not all were willing to be accepted, moreover, the Adler Family was basically finished, so there was no need for any further interaction with Caleb.
She hung up the phone and sent him the address of that witness via text ssage before blacklisting his number.
Caleb wasn’t a simple person either, so it was best to cut ties early.
At seven in the morning, lody Thorne had just stepped into the villa’s hall when a woman inside was about to head out, smiling cheerfully.
"Young Master Jared, I’ll head back first," Sheryl Lancaster smiled as she walked out; when she passed by lody Thorne, her gaze was disdainful.
