lody Thorne noticed the subtle change and felt a small thrill. She curled her lips slightly as she opened his hospital gown, gradually removing the gauze wrapped around his chest, and slowly applied the dicine.
Jared Quinn lowered his eyes. She was focused and serious in attending to his wound. The cold gleam in his eyes showed a hint of warmth, but it lasted only a few seconds. The light in his eyes faded, his cold thin lips spat out a few icy words: "Is this how you apply dicine for him too?"
lody Thorne’s hand stiffened for a mont, since he was injured because of her, she decided not to argue. "It’s not what you think you saw. I did apply the dicine, but we’re not in the kind of relationship you imagine. If there was anything between us, it would have happened long ago. There’s no need to wait until now. Or is it because you lack confidence? Do you think I’d choose him over you?"
"Don’t think that just because you explain it like this, I’ll let him go," Jared Quinn’s voice remained unchanged, but the coldness in his eyes had diminished significantly.
lody Thorne didn’t want Hans Montrose to be implicated. "You’re overthinking it."
Jared Quinn lowered his eyes, observing her gentle and focused movents, his anger dissipating considerably.
She could easily ignite his anger, and just as easily extinguish it.
"Where’s the phone?"
"Hmm?" lody Thorne was montarily puzzled before saying, "How would I know where your phone is?"
"Yours."
"What do you want to do?"
"Bring it."
lody Thorne hesitated for a few seconds, her fingers reaching into the pocket of her coat, then pressed the power button to turn it off. She took it out and pretended to press it twice in front of Jared Quinn. "I just found out it’s out of power."
Jared Quinn took her phone and pressed the power button once, and the screen imdiately lit up.
lody Thorne: "..."
Jared Quinn’s face darkened as he stared at her phone, his eyes showing fury mixed with the storm as he gritted his teeth, "Little liar."
lody Thorne: "...Maybe I accidentally pressed it and turned it off?"
She leaned closer, "What are you going to do?"
"Call soone to remove the headline. How long do you want to hang on the top with him?" Jared Quinn’s finger was about to type in a phone number but accidentally opened lody Thorne’s contacts on her phone.
"Let do it," lody Thorne tried to snatch her phone away.
Jared Quinn avoided her, continuing to browse her phone. The more she refused to let him see it, the more it proved she had sothing to hide. Today, when he asked her the question, she hadn’t answered him directly.
lody Thorne made another attempt to pounce at him, but he pinned her down with one arm, despite the saline drip, and finished scrolling through her contacts in the other hand. His voice was low and hoarse as he questioned, "Why am I not in here?"
lody Thorne: "..."
"You didn’t save as a contact?"
lody Thorne remained silent.
A cold gleam flashed across Jared Quinn’s eyes as he scanned her contacts again, stopping at one entry: Unethical Explosive Guy.
He clicked in, revealing a telephone number he couldn’t be more familiar with.
"Is that how you saved my contact?" Jared Quinn’s forehead veins throbbed.
lody Thorne: "...I’ll change it later."
Jared Quinn cast her a glance, his fingers quickly typing on her phone to change the na, then made a call to have the headline removed.
lody Thorne took back her phone and tried to get up and leave, but Jared Quinn’s arm remained firm around her, his finger lifting her chin. "You haven’t answered my question yet."
