"A new one?" Cynthia Thorne frowned, but didn’t show it. "Even if there’s a new one opening, I wouldn’t sell the company for a re million. I wouldn’t sell for less than five million."
"Is that so?" The chubby man stood up. "Looks like our acquisition won’t happen. This company is dying anyway, I advise Miss Thorne to sell it sooner rather than later."
"Take care, I won’t see you off."
After the man left, Cynthia Thorne made a call to find out if there was a new managent company opening nearby, and the answer was yes.
It’s said to be a big deal, with a registered capital of ten million right off the bat.
A big company like this opening next to them ant they would eventually be squeezed out.
Cynthia Thorne took out her phone to call Terence Thorne for his thoughts, but just as she did, her phone started ringing non-stop, with several people calling her in succession, all saying her company wasn’t worth much anymore.
Just as she was hesitating, a call ca in with an offer three tis higher than what the chubby man and others had proposed.
With the groundwork laid by the old man before, and Nina King stepping in, the deal was sealed imdiately.
"She signed it," Nina King returned to the car.
lody Thorne took the contract. Cynthia Thorne had high standards, she had no interest in managing the company, and given its struggles, she was more than eager to sell.
But she never would have thought it would land in her hands.
"Boss, give a raise," Nina King looked at her eagerly, convinced that with lody Thorne’s thods, the company would surely revive.
"Do your best," lody Thorne smiled, patting her shoulder.
On the set, after one scene, lody Thorne had already missed hundreds of calls on her phone, almost one every minute.
"What’s up?" lody Thorne changed out of her costu.
"Madam, why are you only answering now?" Simon Sutton was almost in tears. He hadn’t done anything all afternoon except call lody Thorne.
"The president refuses to take his dicine or apply his ointnt. I’m afraid his just-healed wounds will relapse. Could you please co over?"
lody Thorne scoffed, "His wounds will heal even without dicine. Not taking it now actually saves so. Did you really need to call for that?"
Simon Sutton: "...No, madam, if the president just takes dicine for two more days, he’d heal faster, right?"
"What does it matter to if he heals fast or not?" lody Thorne said coldly, "Tell him I’m busy, I don’t have ti for him."
Simon Sutton: "......"
His eyes secretively glanced at the grim-looking man across from him, almost wanting to cry. He wasn’t the only one in the company wanting to cry right now; surely, there were many.
The company’s contracts and proposals had been rejected countless tis.
"Madam..." Simon Sutton prepared to argue, but the call was suddenly hung up.
And when he tried to call back, he found he had been blocked.
Timothy Lockwood, who had been hiding nearby, widened his eyes and dropped his mouth open in shock.
"She actually said she’s busy and doesn’t have ti for you," Timothy Lockwood turned around, looking incredulously at the man on the sofa filled with fury.
"She said that?" Jared Quinn’s carefully restrained emotions were shaken, making the veins on his arms bulge.
Simon Sutton: "...Yes."
lody Thorne hung up, removed her makeup, and watched the three young talents signed by her company do so filming.
Nina King rambled on about which of the three had potential and who might beco a big star.
"Alright, I’m heading back," lody Thorne said. She had mories of a past life and knew that the three she signed would have bright futures.
