lody Thorne’s fingers glided over his high nose, then across his face, "Haven’t I already been here?"
Her hand was on his face.
Jared Quinn stared at her deeply, grabbing her small hand and placing it on his belt. His expression was stern, his breath cold and ominous, his voice low and thinly cool, "You can be here too."
"Hah!" Harold Chapman sputtered the red wine he had just drunk.
He thought Jared Quinn would say sothing fierce, but he ca out with this instead. Can it get any more obscene right in front of him?
What happened to ruthless determination, cruel-heartedness, and abstinent coldness?
lody Thorne’s ears quickly turned red, especially now that Jared Quinn was looking at her in such an enticing way.
When he seduces won, it is absolutely fatal.
"You’re blushing," Jared Quinn’s slightly narrowed eyes deepened with seductive allure, yet cooled by a deadly attraction.
"Hm?" lody Thorne responded a bit slowly.
"Your ears."
lody Thorne "..."
"Are you blind?" lody Thorne quickly averted her gaze, "You guys talk, I’m going to the restroom."
She stood up, her steps a bit erratic.
The corners of Jared Quinn’s blood-red, thin lips curved into a sinister, alluring arc. She was indeed flustered...
"Should we go upstairs first?" Harold Chapman reminded, his emotions contained, "Or is there sothing you need to tell the hypnotist?"
"Let’s go."
lody Thorne walked to the center of the banquet, aiming to pass through to get to the restroom. As she hurried along, she almost bumped into soone, who pulled her back just in ti, "Careful, sis."
lody Thorne looked up, finding it was Titus Quinn. She withdrew her hand in displeasure. She couldn’t quite explain why, but she felt a strong aversion.
Her reaction was clearly seen in Titus Quinn’s eyes.
"Does sis have a misunderstanding about ?" Titus Quinn asked gently.
"No, I just don’t like n grabbing my arm," lody Thorne replied with a faint smile.
"I see," Titus Quinn responded very gentlemanly, "We’ll be family in the future, we should interact more."
Seeing his gentle face, lody Thorne always had an urge to tear off his facade, but in the previous life, even though Titus Quinn was ruthless, it was due to the internal conflicts of the nobility targeting Jared Quinn, not her.
So she didn’t want to stir trouble.
"Alright."
Titus Quinn took a few steps back, and lody Thorne thought he was giving her way to pass, so she started forward. Just as she took a step, a beam of light shot down from above.
lody Thorne reached up reflexively, looking upwards. Above was a grand and luxurious crystal chandelier, at least a ter wide, very extravagant.
It was quite beautiful initially, but lody Thorne’s first thought upon seeing it was that it would fall. Secondly, if it did, she would be hit, if not dead, then severely injured. Thirdly, she recalled Jared Quinn being injured abroad with Titus Quinn, gravely wounded and unconscious.
Run! lody Thorne lowered her hand, catching sight of Jared Quinn running towards her, screams already echoing around her.
With a "crash," just as she left her spot, the heavy, luxurious crystal chandelier shattered right in front of her.
"lody Thorne," Jared Quinn pulled her into his arms as she left the spot, lifting her feet off the ground to avoid the shards lying on the floor.
