lody Thorne picked up a bouquet of flowers from the table and threw it at Caleb. She ran towards him without saying a word, punching and kicking.
Caleb dodged, a twitch at the corner of his mouth, proving that she truly had the Seymour Family bloodline—violence was the best evidence of it.
"Can you act like a woman?" Caleb dusted off his now dusty white suit, his eyes casually glancing over her angry little face.
"With you, there’s no need for lady-like behavior!" lody Thorne wished she could run up again and strangle him, drink his blood, eat his flesh.
Throw him off the building; she just couldn’t believe she couldn’t shake him off!
"You weren’t like this before." Caleb’s tone was laced with grievance, a hint of playful mockery on his slightly pale, weak face. "Do you really think that just because Jared Quinn’s been a little nicer to you lately, you’re ready to pour your heart out to him, that you’ve fallen in love again?"
"Who said I’ve fallen for Jared Quinn," lody Thorne shouted, recalling how Jared Quinn had been tornting her physically these past few days, "He’s just as annoying as you. The farther both of you stay from , the better."
"Is that so?" Caleb walked towards her, speaking slowly, "I’ve seriously considered it. If you insist I marry you, it’s not impossible. As long as you agree, as I said, any ti is fine."
lody Thorne sat on the table, looking at him as if he were an idiot, inspecting him from top to bottom, she scoffed, "I really don’t know if you’re ntally impaired now, thinking I’d follow you?"
Caleb "..."
Must I use force to take her away? She should know, in the end, it might an binding her. If lody Thorne is tied back, it’s fine if she behaves, but if not, she might have to be locked up."
"Don’t you want to know you’re not a child of the Thorne Family, what your true identity is? Maybe you bear the family’s mission?" Caleb spoke deliberately, word by word.
All he could reveal for now was just that.
The rest lody Thorne would know once she returned.
"If I want to know anything, Jared Quinn will help investigate. He’s completely devoted to now. Compared to you, he makes feel much more at ease," lody Thorne got off the table, "If you ca to out of interest in my background, then sorry, whether you’re interested or not, it has nothing to do with you.
So stop putting any effort into ."
Caleb’s gaze fixed on her, the sa deep black eyes as Jared Quinn’s, their glimr unfathomable at that mont.
How could it possibly have nothing to do with him?
They’re intertwined; from the mont her identity was determined, wherever she goes, he’ll follow...
How can he make her give up on Jared Quinn?
"I’ll tell you a story," Caleb planned to relate the story of the Seymour family and how she ended up in the Thorne Family under the guise of a tale.
"Not interested," lody Thorne turned and walked away, "This is your last chance. Don’t have your people follow , or I won’t hesitate to fall out with you. I’m sure Jared Quinn would be willing to help deal with you too."
Caleb stared at her back. She was falling deeper, unable to go three sentences without ntioning Jared Quinn...
He looked down at a recording in his hand, extracted a small segnt from it, and sent the most crucial sentences to Jared Quinn anonymously.
