As Caleb’s gaze fixed on her palms, it darkened, and he stepped closer to grab her hand to take a clearer look, but a big hand blocked him before he could grasp lody Thorne’s arm.
Afraid they might start a fight, lody stepped quickly between the two, showing Caleb her palm so he could see clearly.

"I heard from Grandpa that her palms were burned and scarred when she was young. How can there be nothing there?" Stella attempted to grab lody Thorne’s arm to take a good look.
lody Thorne quickly retracted her hands and moved closer into Jared Quinn’s embrace. "See for yourselves; I’m not the person you’re looking for. You should look for soone else."
Her fingers clasped the spot within her palm.
Caleb squinted his eyes, deep in thought as a faint hint of vulnerability crossed his face. "Even if there are no scars on your palms, your appearance alone says it all."
