In the morning, lody received a ssage from the person she least wanted to hear from, Rochelle Thorne. She said lody should go to the hospital because she couldn’t take care of Mrs. Thorne right now.
She went downstairs to find Jared Quinn already there.
"Butler, please pack a breakfast for . I need to take it to the hospital," lody said, biting into a piece of toast.
"Sure, ma’am, please wait a mont," the butler quickly went to the kitchen to prepare another breakfast.
Jared casually handed her a glass of milk. "What’s the rush, take your ti."
lody took a few sips, swallowed the toast, and wanted to hurry because Mrs. Thorne probably hadn’t had breakfast yet.
The butler quickly ca out of the kitchen. "Ma’am, it’s ready."
As lody took the breakfast and turned to leave, a large hand pulled her back. His cold black eyes swept over her eyes, nose, and finally landed on her lips. The look in his eyes was intense, the ssage clear without words.
"Hmm?" lody struggled for a second, an embarrassed blush creeping up behind her ears.
"A morning kiss," Jared said nonchalantly.
The butler’s old face turned red, and he swiftly turned around to pretend he hadn’t heard anything, sensibly moving a bit further away.

"Five minutes."
lody exclaid, "Is that really a morning kiss?"
Her voice rose, and in the hall, the servants exchanged knowing glances in their direction.
"Six minutes?"
lody stood still.

Five minutes later, lody was finally free, gasping for breath as she picked up the packed lunch box and left.
