"Arrest who?" A deep, magnetic voice sounded from outside the door, and a tall, upright figure walked in unhurriedly.
Jared Quinn returned and stood behind lody Thorne, his dark phoenix eyes landing on the two soldiers.
"Mr. Quinn," the two imdiately spoke up.
Upon seeing Jared Quinn arrive, Rochelle Thorne’s expression involuntarily shifted. She had clearly watched this man walk out; why had he returned?
"She drugged my mom," Rochelle Thorne quickly spoke up, "Regardless of her identity, drugging soone is a serious cri, and she must be arrested."
Jared’s gaze swept indifferently over Rochelle, an overwhelming coldness descending, his presence imposing.
Rochelle took a few steps back behind the two soldiers, feeling weak.
"Was it you who drugged ?" Mrs. Thorne struggled to get up from the hospital bed, her gaze at lody Thorne full of disappointnt.
"I know what Rochelle said to you a few days ago might have hurt you, and I also know severing ties with the Thorne family could hurt you, but how could you do such a thing? Did you plan to keep asleep here just to avoid cutting ties?"
lody’s hands clenched tighter, her long eyelashes covering her gaze at the mont.
"I’m so disappointed in you. I should’ve listened to Rochelle and not softened towards you. From now on, don’t co back to the Thorne Family. We have no ties anymore."
Mrs. Thorne lowered her eyes, a stabbing pain in her heart, the feeling particularly vivid.
"Mom," unable to endure any longer, Finn Thorne stord in from outside the hospital room.
Before he could say anything, he saw lody move, followed by the loud sound of a slap echoing in the air.
Rochelle Thorne clutched her face with one hand, nearly falling to the ground, but fortunately, she caught the arm of a soldier next to her.
"lody Thorne, how dare you hit ?!" Rochelle shouted frantically, raising her hand to return the slap.
No one had ever hit her in her life!
Her hand was mid-air when it was seized by a large hand. She looked up into a pair of cold, emotionless eyes, burning with a fierce fire, as if she would be burned alive the next second.
Rochelle’s body shook violently; she imdiately pulled her hand back and retreated, shouting, "Mom, Mom, save , they’re going to kill ! They’re going to kill !"
"Kill?" lody laughed coldly. In this short ti, how many accusations had Rochelle made against her?
Drugging? Killing?
She stepped forward and slapped Rochelle on the face again, "Rochelle, this slap is for your malicious heart, calculating against your own mother. You’ve used mom ti and again, never truly seeing her as family!"
"I don’t understand what you’re saying!" Rochelle kept retreating towards the door, her eyes filled with panic at the sight of lody, "Don’t co any closer! Mom, Mom, save , save , she’s really going to kill !"
"Rochelle, Rochelle," Mrs. Thorne struggled to get up from the bed, "What do you all want? My daughter hasn’t offended you. She wouldn’t drug , she wouldn’t."
"Mom, stay calm. The doctor is already looking into it. There are surveillance caras in the corridor. Whoever did this will be found out," Finn’s gaze swept over Rochelle.
