Ellie Thorne’s face was a mix of colors, red and blue. She had graduated a year earlier than lody Thorne, and as soon as she stepped into the entertainnt industry, she had gained a certain level of fa that was entirely reliant on male actors who wanted to take advantage of her. Even Terence Thorne didn’t know what she had been up to, let alone how much effort she had poured in to gain her fa.
"You’re the whore!" Without thinking, Ellie Thorne raised her hand to hit lody Thorne, as hitting lody was just as routine as it had been back in the Thorne Family.
But lody Thorne stepped back,
"Smack—" The sound of a crisp slap echoed in the air.
At that mont, everyone was stunned; none of them even saw what had happened. They only saw lody Thorne take a step back, and then the sound of a slap followed,
But despite the loud smack, lody Thorne’s face showed no sign of a slap!
Ellie Thorne was a bit dazed, her face burned with pain. When she turned her head, everyone could clearly see that the slap mark was right on her face.
"You dare hit ?" Ellie Thorne still couldn’t believe that lody Thorne had hit her.
From childhood until now, lody Thorne had been hit countless tis by her, yet she never dared to hit back. How dare she lay hands on her this ti?
"Did I hit you?" lody Thorne looked at her with so confusion. She raised her palm and looked at it, a bit red, and then said, "Oh, maybe I did hit you. A reflex, couldn’t help it."
"Heh—" Soone couldn’t help but laugh quietly.
Ellie Thorne wanted to tear her apart, but this was Jared Quinn’s domain; she had to maintain her ladylike image. She turned and threw herself into Terence Thorne’s arms. "Dad, she hit . She actually dared to hit ."
Terence Thorne looked at his daughter with instant heartache. He had never been able to bear laying a finger on his daughter. His face turned steely as he looked at lody Thorne. "Kneel down and apologize to her."
lody Thorne raised her eyebrows indifferently, lazily propping one hand on the counter in front of the stage, her expression innocent. "If you want to kneel down and apologize, that’s fine. But such thods are usually reserved for shrews, whores, bitches, or green-tea bitches. Which one is she?"
Terence Thorne nearly spat blood from anger, wanting to slap her. When had lody Thorne beco so sharp-tongued, so malicious with her words?
"Heh," another suppressed laugh emanated from the hall.
Everyone turned their heads, spotting a tall and lean man in a black, expensive suit standing just when nobody noticed in the hall. A cold, dark aura emanated continuously from him, his sculpted, abstinent features filled with deep, unfathomable danger. His calm and serene almond eyes were fixed on the small, fierce woman in the crowd, intrigued.
The one who had just laughed out loud was the man standing next to him, his secretary, Simon Sutton.
"Young Master Quinn," Ellie Thorne’s eyes lit up the mont she saw Jared Quinn appear, the first to react. She ran over, covering her face with one hand, appearing incredibly wronged and pitiful.
"What happened to Miss Thorne?" Simon Sutton asked kindly.
"It was lody Thorne who hit ," Ellie Thorne’s words brought tears to her eyes, revealing the red handprint on the half of her face she had uncovered. Her quivering shoulders made her look incredibly pitiful. "I was just advising her to leave quickly, so Young Master Quinn wouldn’t be annoyed by her presence. Who knew she would hit ."
