Coming to her senses, lody Thorne saw Mrs. Quinn in the hospital room.
It wasn’t until the next day that Old Mr. Quinn finally woke up. Not long after waking up, he fell asleep again, looking extrely unwell. The doctors ford an ergency dical team to save him.
After Jared Quinn sent lody Thorne back to the villa, he hurried back to the hospital, worried that Old Mr. Quinn might have another mishap.
anwhile, lody Thorne barely ate anything all day. The more she ate, the more she vomited, losing interest in all food.
She opened her phone and found Dr. Mo’s number, sending out a text ssage directly asking, "Is the injection Jared Quinn took 100% effective in preventing pregnancy?"
She was increasingly worried, worried to her core.
Not long after the ssage went out, Dr. Mo replied, [98%, almost no chance of pregnancy].
lody Thorne stared at his text, still uneasy. Even a 2% chance worried her, especially since her period hadn’t co.
At night, when Jared Quinn returned, she still hadn’t fallen asleep, lying there wide-eyed and dazed.
"Why aren’t you asleep yet?" Jared Quinn hung his coat on the rack and wrapped her in his arms.
"How’s grandpa?" lody Thorne looked up.
"Stabilized," Jared Quinn replied. "They’re looking for a suitable heart now."
He had involved Dr. Mo and Leon Rivers, as well as famous overseas physicians, to ensure the surgery in a month would be successful by any ans necessary.
"Jared..." lody Thorne draped her leg over his strong waist, unwilling to bear it alone any longer.
"Hmm?"
"What if I’m pregnant?" As lody Thorne asked this question, she was on the verge of tears.
Jared Quinn’s eyes narrowed slightly, his large hand lifting her delicate chin. "What did you say?"
"I’m just asking," lody Thorne’s voice was as small as the hum of a mosquito, revealing her lack of confidence and so guilt. "Dr. Mo said the chance of pregnancy is only 2%, but I’m really worried."
After all, Jared Quinn hadn’t touched her when she had Timmy, so maybe fate was really unpredictable, and they’d conceive regardless!
Damn it, even with no chance, they might still get pregnant.
Jared Quinn’s business-minded brain, which worked faster than most people’s, displayed all the joyful scenes and even dates of their reconciliation in his mind.
Including when she last had her period.
The dark eyes narrowed uneasily, his tall and handso body turning, leaning halfway on her, his large hand holding her arm above her head. "Say it again?"
lody Thorne couldn’t discern his thoughts, trying to push him away. "I said ’if’, it’s not real."
"You haven’t had it for half a month," Jared Quinn confird.
"Then what should we do?" lody Thorne suddenly caved.
Her belly wouldn’t be so promising, would it? Could even such a small chance occur?
Jared Quinn’s gaze fell on her small belly, carefully placing his large hand there, with complex emotions in his deep eyes...
"Don’t worry, even if it’s true, I won’t keep it," lody Thorne believed he was hesitant, considering Timmy couldn’t afford an accident either.
And she didn’t know if her body could withstand it.
"No," Jared Quinn interrupted her swiftly, quicker than his own reaction.
