lody’s fingers moved a few tis on the computer and deleted the information she had just received.
The study door was pushed open, and Jared entered holding a glass of refreshing red wine. He saw lody sitting in his chair looking like a well-behaved child.
"Why aren’t you asleep?" Jared walked in, put the wine on the table, and lifted her onto his lap with his strong, slender arms.
"I can’t sleep," lody murmured, her arms draped around his neck.
"Because of today?" Jared seed to have already guessed, his handso features close to her face. "Isn’t being my legitimate wife good?"
"No," lody frowned, taking out her phone to show him the online gossip. "At first, they all speculated I was Timmy’s biological mother, then they outright claid I was your mistress."
Jared: "..."
His gaze shifted to the comnts below the photos; indeed, they were all discussing lody being a kept woman.
"Sorry, I didn’t think it through," Jared said, his chiseled features deepening. He hadn’t anticipated the situation would take such a twisted turn.
"Seems like, in their hearts, they think you love keeping won," lody pouted, glaring at him.
Jared: "... Where’d you get these misconceptions, I only have you. You were my first."
lody: "..."
Damn, he always starts flirting if you challenge him.
"You make it sound like I wasn’t your first," lody mumbled softly.
In Jared’s deep dark eyes, a glint appeared. He vividly rembered where their first ti was and how bold and enticing lody was...
"So you rember clearly," Jared said, wrapping his arm around her slender waist. His Adam’s apple moved up and down, recalling that day’s scene.
He lowered his head and bit her fair little earlobe.
"Hmph," lody grumbled, not wanting to acknowledge him. That day was nearly unbearable for her.
Jared’s phone chid; it was the old man calling.
"Grandpa."
"Hmm," Grandpa Quinn was watching the news, reporters from major newspapers were calling, asking about the woman beside Jared.
He’d seen the footage too. His grandson was always deep and thoughtful, likely because lody hadn’t agreed to go public, so he did this to let the reporters expose them.
Too bad they didn’t capture a full-face photo.
"Cough, cough," Grandpa Quinn could be heard coughing violently, as if he couldn’t manage a full sentence.
"Grandpa?" lody stared at the phone and spoke up, "Why are you coughing so badly? Is the doctor at the manor?"
Hearing that, Grandpa Quinn winked at the butler in front of him triumphantly.
His tactic never failed!
"Cough, cough," Grandpa Quinn weakly spoke after another bout of coughing, "lody, I saw the news today, and I know what you’re both thinking. If you want to go public with your relationship, of course, I support it at my age. The last ti there was an accident, I’ve thought about it, with everyone wildly speculating, it’s not good to declare you’re secretly married. Why don’t you hold a wedding ceremony?"

"Cough, cough..." Grandpa Quinn coughed so more.
