Harold Chapman scanned his surroundings and didn’t see Felix Chandler’s figure, assuming he had already fled. lody Thorne ntioned Felix must not be let go, but he probably hadn’t gone far.
"Take them back imdiately and start investigating Felix’s whereabouts."
"Yes."
Sheryl Lancaster’s gaze turned to the glass window of a nearby building, where she saw a silhouette holding a silenced gun aid at her. Instinctively, she closed her eyes, resigning to fate.
Harold was still unsure where he would be taking them.
Chloe Sumrs, who had been closely observing Sheryl’s reactions, saw her first look in a direction and then close her eyes—a bad premonition shivered through her body.
She vaguely noticed a man holding a gun directed first at Sheryl, then shifting towards Harold.
"Watch out, Harold!" Chloe scread as she ran towards Harold’s direction and pushed the man in front away. A bullet grazed through her arm.
Though the bullet barely skimd her skin, her arm imdiately gushed with blood.
"Chloe," Harold finally ca to his senses and noticed her arm, his sharp, calm gaze suddenly filled with deadly intent, revealing all his emotions.
At the Quinn Corporation’s top floor, lody Thorne was unaware of what was unfolding below, her eyes locked on the directors in front of her, her cold pupils as fierce as Jared Quinn’s.
The shareholders all hung their heads; not one of them dared to speak.
In their eyes, lody was only around twenty, how could they admit their mistakes to her?
The more they acted this way, the less lody would let them off.
"Jared, are you sure everyone in this company is an elite? How co they were so loud just now but have nothing to say now," she taunted.
Jared Quinn lifted his gaze, his distinct fingers tapping repeatedly, staring at the old-tirs, "What’s the matter? Nothing to say now?"
Everyone looked at each other. They weren’t afraid of lody Thorne but were greatly intimidated by Jared Quinn’s presence.
"Madam," soone finally stood up.
Others began to rise as well, "We indeed misjudged this matter. If we offended anyone, please forgive us, considering we’ve been with the Quinn Corporation for so long."
Aside from her and Jared Quinn, everyone else in the conference room was standing.
lody propped her chin with one hand while typing a ssage with the other, leaving the old geezers waiting.
She knew those old fellows didn’t approve of her after learning about her hidden marriage with Jared because the Thorne Family had gone bankrupt.
So, she deliberately ignored them, showing she wasn’t to be trifled with either.
Five minutes passed until Simon Sutton gave a reminder.
lody then lifted her head to look at them, "Alright, it wasn’t a big deal anyway. In future situations like this, I hope everyone can trust our own people rather than being swayed by outsiders, lest we end up chasing after our own tails."
Though her tone was light, her words carried significant weight.
"Yes, yes, we definitely won’t, not at all."
"Do you still have etings to attend?" lody Thorne stood up, gazing at the man behind her.
Jared Quinn glanced at his watch and pinched her small waist, "There’s still a few hours till eight. Be good, head back first. I’m waiting for your Valentine’s surprise."
His gentle voice was deadly yet sensual.
lody shot him a glare, having just cleared herself of murder charges, her brain cells thoroughly exhausted, alright?
