"You’re the one who’s feeling empty inside," lody Thorne snatched the phone, feeling guilty and unsure how to explain.
Those were young actors signed to her company; she had seen their photos once but couldn’t rember their appearances now, as Nina King was the one managing them. She had forgotten all about it.
"Hmm?" Jared Quinn flipped over and pinned her down, his large hand rubbing the skin on her thigh.
"Those... those were all handled by Nina, nothing to do with , they’re actors for the new drama," lody Thorne blurted out an excuse.
Jared Quinn wouldn’t be so easily deceived; his large hand sluggishly moved up, trying to extract the truth from her.
"Jared, you must leave now," Harold Chapman’s voice ca through the earphones Jared Quinn always wore, warning him it would be easier to be discovered at night.
Jared Quinn ceased his actions and picked up the clothes beside him. "I’ll deal with you later."
lody Thorne breathed a sigh of relief and got up. "Are you leaving?"
Jared Quinn turned around, buttoning each button ticulously. "There’s sothing outside that needs handling."
Staying here rendered him immobile; all he could do was start pressuring the Seymour Family in the business realm, waiting for them to approach him.
"Be careful then," lody Thorne half-kneeled on the bed, helping him fasten the buttons. "Rember to call Timmy once you get back and tell him we’ll be back soon, so he should stay with the Quinn Family and not wander around."
Thinking of Timmy made lody Thorne’s expression visibly saddened. Hadn’t she just contradicted her own words?
She wondered if Timmy was angry, wishing she could hug him, yet unable to do so.
"Alright, don’t worry," Jared Quinn’s large hand turned the ring on her finger. "Look, turning it to the left sends a signal, turning it to the right ans you’re in danger and need urgent help."
"It has this feature?" lody Thorne lowered her head to look at the diamond on it, unable to discern much; it just looked like a ring.
"Don’t fiddle with it carelessly," Jared Quinn held her finger, unable to resist hugging her again. "Trust , we can go back very soon."
"Okay."
"Knock knock," there was a knocking sound from outside. lody Thorne wanted to say sothing but had no choice but to go out.
"Miss, the master says tonight’s dinner is for you to join everyone," the two servants lowered their heads, not daring to look at her with the previous gaze.
"Alright," lody Thorne glanced back at her room. Since Jared Quinn had a way in, he must have a way out.
Seymour Family’s hall.
When lody Thorne entered, many people had already arrived, so she had seen, so she hadn’t; they were all there.
"Miss, here," Caleb pointed to a seat, positioned between Hans Montrose and the Seymour elder.
"I didn’t expect you’re quite adept now!" lody Thorne glared fiercely at Caleb. "Wonder how the Adler Family would react if they knew their CEO was rely a male attendant for the Seymour Family!"
Caleb looked at her indifferently. "If you want the news to spread back ho, it’s not impossible, but there’s sothing more important right now."
"What?"
"The Seymour elder has decided to announce today to everyone, including all of Crestfall, that Hans Montrose will be the Seymour Family’s future grandson-in-law," Caleb whispered in her ear.
lody Thorne raised her head, her gaze suddenly cold, her steps halting instantly.
Everyone watched her reaction.
"Co here," the Seymour elder signaled to the seat beside him authoritative gaze.
