"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law," Leon Rivers caught up with lody Thorne after they exited the lobby, only then did he feel the murderous intent ease a lot.
"Sister-in-law, don’t worry about him. Jared is inside; he’s angry. You should explain to him first."
Even though there’s really nothing left to explain, the kiss already happened.
"What do I even have to explain?" lody Thorne turned around and followed the doctor to the place where Hans Montrose was being examined.
"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law," Leon Rivers watched as lody Thorne walked away with the doctor, uncertain whether to follow or return.
An hour later, the doctor handed the examination report to lody Thorne. "Based on our report, Mr. Montrose’s white blood cells have spread throughout his body. It’s at the last stage. If we’re not mistaken, Mr. Montrose probably knew about this three years ago."
"Could there be a mistake?" lody Thorne clenched the report. "He’s been fine all along. How can this suddenly happen?"
The news ca too suddenly; lody Thorne had no way to accept it.
When she and Jared Quinn planned to deceive Hans Montrose to rescue Howard Seymour, they had agreed that once Howard Seymour was rescued, Hans Montrose’s matter would be let go. She also promised Jared Quinn that she would not have any ties with Hans Montrose thereafter.
"There can be no mistake. Mr. Montrose’s symptoms are evident," the doctor said, "and he had previously undergone treatnt but stopped midway, so now we have no way to save him."
Hans Montrose raised his head, his unmasked face already as pale as a sheet. He looked up at her.
Hans Montrose knew lody Thorne was sentintal, so he hadn’t told her at first.
"I guess I’ve fully completed you and Jared Quinn," Hans Montrose smiled faintly. "It’s obvious you both trust each other; I have no chance of entering your world."
"Hans Montrose!" lody Thorne slapped the report onto the table, clenching her fists tightly. "I won’t allow you to die!"
To her, Hans Montrose was like a brother; except for Jared Quinn, no one could replace him.
"Are you joking?" Hans Montrose laughed nonchalantly, as if he wasn’t the one who was ill. "You already have Jared Quinn. Rember, a woman shouldn’t be so fickle."
"I don’t need you to lecture !" lody Thorne turned around to leave. "Watch him closely."
"Yes."
lody Thorne returned all the way to the place the Seymour Family had arranged for her. The lights inside were on. Pushing the door open, she saw the man standing by the window, exuding a chill, casually smoking, his sharp features as if carved by a knife, his tall figure clearly repelling anyone from getting close.
"Sister-in-law," Leon Rivers gestured towards Jared Quinn’s direction.
"Leon Rivers," the first thing lody Thorne did upon entering wasn’t to explain to Jared Quinn. She really had nothing to explain about; Hans Montrose hadn’t even kissed her.
"Co with to save Hans Montrose."
Leon Rivers "..." Is that possible?
"Sister-in-law, I only listen to Jared," Leon Rivers’s gaze wavered a bit.
lody Thorne cast a vicious look at him, knowing he’d suffer for this later.
"Jared Quinn, tell Leon Rivers to go save Hans Montrose," lody Thorne walked over and looked up at Jared Quinn, not negotiating but stating.
It was this tone that made Jared Quinn narrow his eyes, even his voice tinged with coldness.
His gaze fell on her lips; just thinking about Hans Montrose having touched them made him want to kill Hans Montrose, let alone save him!
